Celebrating a Century: A Unique Dinner Event with Domaine Kosei at Ginza Aster

A Century of Culinary Excellence

Ginza Aster, a renowned culinary establishment in Japan, is celebrating a remarkable milestone of 100 years in the business. To mark this special occasion, they are hosting an exclusive makers dinner in collaboration with Domaine Kosei on March 24, 2026, at their flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. The event promises to be a delightful fusion of fine dining and exceptional wine, showcasing the dedication and philosophy of two prominent players in the culinary landscape.

The evening is headlined by Kosei Ajimura, the esteemed winemaker and representative of Domaine Kosei, who is widely recognized for his contributions to the Japanese wine industry. As part of the event, Ajimura will share his insights and the philosophy behind his winemaking journey, engaging attendees in a deep dive into the art of crafting extraordinary wines.

The gourmet experience will feature a specially curated course by Ginza Aster's head chef, Takebe, highlighting the best of Hokkaido's seafood delicacies. Diners will savor delicacies such as the deliciously flavorful "Ryuhyo Akebitake Crab" and the rich "Kinki" fish, capturing the essence of Hokkaido's bounty. Every dish is designed to reflect the unique flavors and produce of the region, offering an immersive culinary adventure.

To complement this culinary ensemble, there will be a selection of four exquisite wines paired with the meal. Among them is a sparkling wine from Chateau Mercian, a pioneer in Japanese wine production, along with one rosé and two red wines from Domaine Kosei. Notably, one of the reds is a gold medal-winning wine from the Japan Wine Competition 2025, ensuring a prestigious tasting experience. Additionally, the evening will see the unveiling of a special Ginza Aster original wine, created to commemorate the restaurant's 100th anniversary.

This special makers dinner represents the harmony between two distinct philosophies — the culinary wisdom that has been cultivated at Ginza Aster since its founding in 1926 and Domaine Kosei’s commitment to producing wines that reflect Japan's terroir. It's a night designed to resonate with lovers of fine food and wine alike, creating a unique opportunity to appreciate the symbiotic relationship between gastronomic experiences and viniculture.
