The impact of Robinson's leadership was also noted in his role within the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), where he served as Assistant Commissioner and emphasized compliance and academic advising for student-athletes. His commitment to excellence has marked him as a vital contributor to the advancement of college athletics, making him the first African American president of the NCAA's Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Athletics Directors Association.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Robinson is a proud father of four and holds degrees from Mississippi Valley State University and the United States Sports Academy. His journey through collegiate athletics began with his experiences as a student-athlete, where he thrived as a standout point guard, solidifying his passion for fostering future generations of athletes.
With Robinson at the helm, Texas Southern University is poised for a promising future as an HBCU with aspirations for national excellence. Robinson emphasized his excitement about returning to Texas and is eager to get started on the journey of promoting both academic and athletic success for all student-athletes at Texas Southern University.
