Andrey Rublev Meets Children from Asyl Miras Autism Center in Almaty Open

A Heartwarming Meeting: Andrey Rublev and Children from Asyl Miras

## An Inspiring Event at Almaty Open

Recently, during the thrilling ambiance of the Almaty Open ATP 250 tournament, tennis star Andrey Rublev took the time to meet and interact with ten children from the Asyl Miras Autism Center. This meaningful initiative was organized by the Kazakh Tennis Federation (KTF) and is part of a tradition that aims to foster connections between professional athletes and children from the Autism Center, which is operated by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation that manages 13 such centers across Kazakhstan.

The focus of this gathering was to not only bring joy and excitement to the children but also to emphasize the importance of inclusion in all aspects of life, especially in sports. Ainur Karbozova, CEO of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, expressed the significance of such interactions, stating that these meetings broaden societal understanding of inclusion for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

"It is crucial that children with ASD have the opportunity to engage in all areas of life, including sports. Such meetings help expand the understanding of inclusion not only among children but within society as a whole," Karbozova noted.

Fun and Engaging Activities

During the day, Rublev and the children participated in tailored tennis activities, including ball and racket exercises, precision tasks, and various fun drills. These activities were customized by specialists from the Asyl Miras center and the KTF to ensure that every child could explore the sport in a relaxed and enjoyable manner.

This was not just a chance for the kids to have fun; it was also an opportunity for Rublev to gain deeper insights into Autism and how to effectively communicate with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorders.

“It was a wonderful experience. Spending time with children always brings joy. They teach you so much, and it’s always special to be a part of such a playful atmosphere,” Rublev shared. “Every charitable initiative is incredibly meaningful, and everyone feels connected to it in their own way. The important thing is simply to do something good.”

Continuing a Legacy of Support

Professional tennis players have continually supported the initiatives of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation. Over the years, Asyl Miras Autism Centers have welcomed renowned athletes like Novak Djokovic, Elena Rybakina, Carlos Alcaraz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Alexander Bublik. Continuing this noble tradition, Rublev presented tennis rackets to the children at the end of the event, encouraging them to keep playing tennis and practicing their newfound skills.

In essence, this get-together was much more than a sports event; it was a heartfelt gesture promoting understanding, inclusion, and compassion, paving the way for a far more inclusive society. With champions like Rublev leading the way, there's hope and a bright future for these children in sports and beyond.
