NTT Docomo Enhances Investment Access with Monex Securities
NTT Docomo, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced an exciting new initiative in partnership with Monex Securities, also based in Tokyo. Starting from January 29, 2026, customers will be able to receive comprehensive support for opening Monex Securities' comprehensive investment accounts directly at Docomo Shops. This initiative marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time a telecommunications carrier's agency has obtained a financial services intermediary license to provide such services at their retail locations.
The cooperation between NTT Docomo and Monex Securities began with a capital and business partnership in January 2024, focusing on expanding asset formation services and improving user convenience. Since then, the two companies have introduced several services, including card-based savings programs and the seamless linking of investment accounts with the d-account platform. Notably, customers can now invest in mutual funds using d-points, creating greater access to financial opportunities.
In 2025, the companies are set to launch an even more user-friendly concept called "Easy Asset Management," allowing customers to open comprehensive investment accounts or apply for mutual fund savings with just the d-payment app, further simplifying the investment process.
This latest support initiative is particularly aimed at first-time investors who may be unsure of how to begin their investment journeys. Trained Docomo staff, who hold the requisite securities sales qualifications, will assist customers in opening comprehensive investment accounts, NISA accounts, and navigating other related services. They will provide hands-on guidance, using customers' smartphones to facilitate various administrative procedures—all at no extra cost.
This support aims to help ease the apprehension that many potential investors feel about starting to invest. With an emphasis on personal interaction, the program seeks to empower customers to take their first steps toward asset formation with confidence. However, it's worth noting that the support provided at Docomo Shops does not cover detailed inquiries regarding specific financial products like mutual funds or individual stocks. For those inquiries, customers should contact Monex Securities' customer support directly.
The initial rollout will begin in 35 select Docomo Shop locations, with plans to expand to approximately 100 locations in the near term. Interested customers can find a list of participating stores on a dedicated website (
Monex Docomo Shop), which will be updated regularly.
As NTT Docomo and Monex Securities continue to refine their offerings, they remain committed to providing seamless financial services tailored to individual customers' life stages. Through ongoing collaboration, the two companies aim to foster a supportive environment for customers as they navigate the world of investment.
In conclusion, this new initiative by NTT Docomo and Monex Securities exemplifies an innovative and customer-centric approach to financial services. By bridging the gap between communication and finance, they are poised to transform the investment landscape for customers, making financial growth more accessible for everyone.
Note: The support pertains specifically to designated participating stores, and excludes certain accounts such as those for SBI Shinsei Bank and AEON Bank.
