Linnet Corner Wait List Opens for Senior Housing



The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is excited to announce the opening of the housing wait list for Linnet Corner, a dedicated senior living community that caters to individuals aged 62 and older. This initiative is set to provide much-needed affordable housing in the area, making it a wonderful opportunity for local seniors looking for quality living arrangements.

Application Details


The application process for Linnet Corner will officially commence on April 4, 2025, at 11 AM PST and will conclude on April 18, 2025, at 11 AM PST. A total of 23 studio apartments will be made available through a lottery selection system, which will be conducted via the Alameda County Housing Portal. Applicants can submit their applications starting April 4 at www.linnetcorner.com.

Priority will be given to individuals living and/or working in the City of Alameda, enhancing local community engagement and support. Residents are anticipated to begin moving in around September 2025.

Features of Linnet Corner


These studio apartments, each measuring 400 square feet, are designed to accommodate one to two-person households and come with essential amenities, including:

  • - A private bathroom
  • - Onsite laundry facilities
  • - A community room for social gatherings
  • - Secure bicycle storage
  • - An elevator for easy access
  • - A pet-friendly environment

Linnet Corner also offers Wi-Fi hotspots, resident services, an onsite property manager, and a beautifully landscaped central courtyard complete with a barbecue area. After moving in, residents will only need to cover the cost of electricity, as other utilities such as water, sewer, and trash service will be included at no extra charge. Additionally, each household will receive a free transit pass to aid in easy mobility within the city.

Income Guidelines


The income and rent structure for Linnet Corner is anticipated to cater to varying financial backgrounds, as detailed below:

  • - Studio (1 unit) at 30% AMI: Maximum income for one person is $32,700; for two persons, $37,380; Rent will be set at $754 with a minimum income requirement of $1,131.00 per month.
  • - Studios (22 units) at 40% AMI: Maximum income for one person is $43,600; for two persons, $49,840; Rent will be $1,027, with a minimum income requirement of $1,540.50 per month.
