EVB's Award-Winning Ultra-Slim 150kW DC Charger
In a remarkable achievement, EVB, a prominent provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has announced that its ultra-slim DC charger, the BUDC, has earned the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 and Red Dot Award for Product Design 2026. This recognition highlights a perfect blend of thoughtful industrial design, high technical performance, and practical utility, addressing the challenges faced in deploying charging infrastructure.
The BUDC charger delivers a total output of 150 kW and features a thickness of just around 100 mm, effectively tackling the common issue found in European rapid DC charging projects - how to deploy powerful equipment within constrained spaces. Its flat design allows for flexible installation on walls or integration into urban infrastructure such as parking facilities and bus depots.
Equipped with two CCS2 connectors and an IP65 rated enclosure, the BUDC charger is suitable for outdoor installation. Single connections can supply up to 150 kW, and when charging two EVs simultaneously, an intelligent power distribution system allocates available power efficiently. Additionally, its liquid cooling system, along with modular AC and DC components, simplifies maintenance while ensuring reliable operation.
Jundan Wang, CEO of EVB, stated,
"Receiving both the iF DESIGN AWARD and the Red Dot Award confirms that charging infrastructure can achieve high performance without compromising the space in which it operates. The BUDC was designed to help charging station operators and corporate fleets maximize limited spaces while providing reliable and intuitive EV charging solutions.”
EVB's DC charging solutions are part of a wider product offering that ranges from AC chargers with a 3.7 kW output to mega-watt charging systems capable of 2000 kW. As part of its European portfolio, EVB provides CE-marked models, TÜV-certified configurations, and supports protocols including OCPP 1.6J/2.0.1 and ISO 15118 Plug & Charge standards. Depending on the chosen model and project configuration, EVB can also provide MID-compliant energy metering systems and payment options via credit and debit cards, as well as contactless payments for European Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and public charging networks.
