Sera Prognostics Announces Scott Gleason as New CFO to Enhance Financial Strategy

Sera Prognostics Strengthens Leadership with New CFO Appointment

Sera Prognostics Inc., widely recognized as The Pregnancy Company and publicly traded under Nasdaq as SERA, recently made a significant addition to its executive leadership team. Effective August 31, 2026, Scott Gleason will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This strategic move comes as Sera continues its mission to improve maternal and neonatal health through innovative pregnancy biomarker solutions.

Scott Gleason brings a wealth of experience—over 25 years in the healthcare and diagnostics sectors—to his new position. His previous roles include serving as Vice President of Investor Relations and Treasury at Neogen Corporation and CFO at both LarmorBio and NX Prenatal. Notably, he also played a transformative role as interim CFO at OraSure Technologies, where he helped elevate the company's COVID-19 testing to a substantial market presence.

Zhenya Lindgardt, Sera’s CEO, expressed her enthusiasm regarding Gleason's appointment, stating, "Scott brings financial leadership, operating discipline, and capital markets experience that will support Sera's continued growth and execution." As Sera focuses on expanding access to its flagship offering, the PreTRM® Test, Gleason's skills will be integral in advancing the company's commercial trajectory and strategic goals.

In Gleason's view, the healthcare industry is facing an unparalleled challenge with preterm birth, a critical area that remains significantly underserved. He emphasizes the importance of the PreTRM® Test, which is designed to give vital risk assessments for spontaneous premature delivery, enabling healthcare professionals to intervene proactively with at-risk patients. Gleason underscored the potential impact of the PreTRM® Test by saying, "Sera has built a strong commercial foundation, and I look forward to partnering with the leadership team to support this important mission."

Austin Aerts, who has served as CFO since June 2023, will transition to an advisory role, ensuring a smooth handover and continued strategic support as the company navigates this alteration in leadership. Aerts has been instrumental since joining Sera in 2017, contributing significantly during its initial public offering and now supports the company’s ongoing strategy implementation and future market positioning.

Lindgardt praised Aerts, noting, "Austin has been an exceptional partner and leader throughout his time at Sera. His dedication and deep understanding have been critical to our growth and evolution. We are grateful for his many contributions and look forward to continuing to partner with him to grow Sera's business."
