Hengrui Pharma Sets New Standards with 64 Research Findings at ESMO Congress 2026

Hengrui Pharma's Promising Developments at ESMO 2026

From October 23 to 27, 2026, Hengrui Pharma will present an impressive 64 research findings during the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress held in Madrid, Spain. This dedication marks the eleventh consecutive year of Hengrui's participation, further solidifying their commitment to advancing oncology.

Among the presentations, three will be featured as "Proffered Papers" and three as "Rapid Oral" sessions, covering over ten different areas within oncology and related treatments. The research focuses significantly on antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) specific to HER2 and HER3, particularly in relation to breast and lung cancers, addressing critical treatment needs and anticipating future healthcare innovations.

Innovations in Antibody-Drug Conjugates

Hengrui's commitment to innovation is exemplified by two of its independently developed ADCs: Trastuzumab-Rezetecan (SHR-A1811) aimed at HER2-expressing tumors and Ruzaltatug-Rezetecan (SHR-A2009) targeting HER3. Both compounds are selected for their potential in tackling advanced stages of breast and lung cancers, and will be discussed in depth at the congress.

The HORIZON-Breast06 study features Trastuzumab-Rezetecan assessing its therapeutic potential in patients with low HER2 status advanced breast cancer. Under the leadership of Binghe Xu from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital, findings will showcase the drug's effectiveness across multiple indications including breast, lung, and gastric cancers. The increasing insight into Trastuzumab-Rezetecan's clinical utility could redefine treatment options available for challenging cases.

For Ruzaltatug-Rezetecan, interim analyses from HERON-Lung01, led by Professor Yi-Long Wu, will contrast its efficacy against traditional treatments for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with an EGFR mutation. In July 2026, China’s National Medical Products Administration accepted its application for review, signaling a step towards its potential approval. Additionally, Ruzaltatug-Rezetecan has received "Fast-Track" designation from the FDA for its use in treating metastatic NSCLC.

Expanding Clinical Utility

Hengrui's established PD-1 inhibitor, Camrelizumab, will be featured in the UNION study—investigating its effectiveness following a neoadjuvant short-course radiation therapy in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer. Another exciting presentation will shed light on ADC SHR-A2102 tailored for recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer, demonstrating the ongoing evolution in therapeutic approaches.

Additionally, the evolving landscape of oncology through Hengrui's HRS-4642 will be explored. This KRAS-G12D inhibitor shows promise when combined with chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer, receiving a "Breakthrough Therapy" designator in China for first-line treatment. Key findings from these ongoing studies communicate Hengrui's aim to push boundaries in cancer therapy.

A Commitment to Global Health

Beyond simply attending the congress, Hengrui Pharma is dedicated to fostering international dialogue regarding its innovative oncology products and research findings. Jo Feng, President and COO of Hengrui Pharma, expressed excitement at their participation, stating, "This year, we set a new record with 64 presentations showcasing our advancements in the development of innovative medications. We aspire to translate our research into significant clinical benefits for patients globally."

This year’s presentation underlines Hengrui's relentless drive toward enhancing patient care through scientific innovation. Aligning with their mission since 1970, Hengrui remains committed to addressing clinical needs across oncology and other therapeutic areas, promising a bright future for global health advocacy.

By participating in the ESMO Congress, Hengrui Pharma not only uplifts its brand but also contributes significantly to the oncology landscape, exemplifying the potential impact of research and innovation in the fight against cancer.
