U Power Limited Reports Interim Financial Results for First Half of 2026, Focusing on Strategic Expansion

U Power Limited (Nasdaq: UCAR) has recently announced its unaudited financial results for the first six months of the 2026 fiscal year, revealing both challenges and advancements in their operations. The company specializes in providing electric vehicle (EV) battery-swapping solutions, leveraging its proprietary UOTTA™ technology, and is expanding into artificial intelligence (AI)-integrated energy management for transportation systems. As of June 30, 2026, U Power's total net revenues stood at RMB14.8 million (approximately US$2.2 million), representing a 16.5% decrease from RMB17.7 million in the same period of 2025. This decline is primarily attributed to the absence of sourcing services revenue from prior years, coupled with a slight reduction in revenue from the sale of battery-swapping stations, which contributed RMB13.5 million to their overall revenue, down 3.1% year-over-year.

Despite the decline in total revenues, U Power saw a significant 30.2% rise in net revenues from battery-swapping services. This service included two-wheeled vehicle battery-swapping, which accounted for RMB1.3 million (US$0.2 million) of total revenues, compared to RMB1.0 million in H1 2025. The company reported a gross profit of RMB3.6 million (US$0.5 million), a considerable decrease from RMB8.4 million in the previous year.

Mr. Jia Li, U Power's CEO, highlighted that the financial results reflect the company's commitment to transitioning key projects from planning stages to execution. Notably, two pivotal battery-swapping projects were initiated: in Thailand, production and testing were completed for their first batch of 30 heavy-duty battery-swapping trucks; in Hong Kong SAR, foundational work for the MAXUS MIFA 7 battery-swapping taxi station began, with the vehicles receiving type approval to facilitate their sale.

Furthermore, U Power reported a net loss of RMB97.6 million (US$14.4 million) for the first half of 2026, compared to RMB27.4 million in H1 2025. This loss was largely due to expenses associated with overseas expansion and new project evaluations, alongside increased interest costs and provisions for expected credit losses. As of June 30, the company’s cash and cash equivalents totaled RMB54.9 million (US$8.1 million), an increase from RMB22.0 million as of the end of 2025, while working capital surged to RMB123.3 million (US$18.2 million).

The company emphasized the importance of their strategic focus moving forward, aiming to convert their project pipeline into tangible deliveries and sustainable revenue streams. Major emphasis was placed on enhancing their battery-swapping services in both Thailand and Hong Kong, driving the deployment of battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks and promoting their battery-swapping taxi services. Beyond mobility, U Power is venturing into the AI-driven energy solutions sector, with plans to create advanced management systems for intelligent data centers, thereby diversifying its portfolio and potentially unlocking new growth avenues.

The financial performance of U Power as reported showcases resilience against various challenges faced during the first part of 2026. As they navigate this evolving landscape, the company remains dedicated to its vision of becoming a leading player in the electric vehicle infrastructure and energy management industries. U Power Limited continues to seek long-term value creation for its shareholders as it advances its operations and explores new technological integrations within the realm of sustainable mobility and energy solutions.
