The much-anticipated EICMA 2026 officially kicked off on November 3 in Milan, welcoming motorcycle enthusiasts and media from around the globe. Among the highlights of the event was KYMCO's unveiling of two flagship models: the CV-X45 crossover adventure motorcycle and the X-Town S 350 premium urban scooter, both set to redefine their respective segments in the market.
KYMCO's Legacy and Market Presence
KYMCO, a name synonymous with quality and innovation in the two-wheeler sector, has built a strong reputation globally since its entry into international markets in 1992. The company proudly boasts annual exports exceeding 400,000 units, illustrating its solid brand recognition among riders worldwide.
With a keen understanding of the evolving urban mobility landscape, KYMCO has strategically focused on developing scooters that cater to modern-day needs. Its proactivity has resulted in a leading position within the maxi-scooter category across Italy and Spain, and partnerships with significant manufacturers like BMW. Notably, KYMCO has successfully ventured into niche markets with differentiated products such as the CV3 three-wheel scooter and the MXU700 ATV, both of which have seen commendable sales figures in Europe.
Introducing the CV-X45 Crossover Adventure Motorcycle
One of the stars of the show, the CV-X45 crossover adventure motorcycle, is a monumental offering from KYMCO that seamlessly blends adaptability and performance. This model is powered by a robust 427cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, specifically engineered to deliver enhanced torque in the low to mid-range RPM, allowing for better hill-climbing capabilities. The innovative PTM transmission system minimizes unsprung mass, significantly improving ride precision.
Riders will appreciate the three selectable riding modes that allow for tailored performance based on varying conditions. Braced with a 41mm upside-down fork in the front and a centrally mounted six-link rear suspension, both offering 150mm of travel, the CV-X45 is ready to tackle diverse terrains. Coupled with versatile Dunlop tires, this motorcycle promises a thrilling adventure experience, regardless of the landscape.
Its ergonomic design is complemented by a 13.5-liter fuel tank, a fully digital color instrument panel, cruise control, and ample storage, striking a balance between off-road capability and long-distance comfort. The European variant will maintain its essential features while introducing new color options, further solidifying KYMCO's position in the adventurous motorcycle market.
The X-Town S 350 Premium Urban Scooter
Alongside the CV-X45, KYMCO introduced the brand-new X-Town S 350, engineered for city commuting and medium to long-distance travel. Built upon an entirely new frame, this scooter boasts a reduced weight of 3 kg (15% lighter) while enhancing frame rigidity by 15%, thereby increasing both agility and stability.
This model features advanced technology, including class D LED headlights, an X-shaped taillight, a 7-inch full-color TFT display, a keyless ignition system, and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) feature. The suspension system is crafted for comfort with generous travel of 100mm in the front and 108mm in the rear, complemented by five-level adjustable rear shocks.
Safety and control are paramount with 260mm disc brakes at the front and 240mm at the rear, supported by Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS). Notable enhancements increase practicality, such as an adjustable windscreen, dual USB Type-C fast-charging ports, and a sizable 41.9-liter underseat storage compartment, alongside a 13.3-liter fuel tank to facilitate daily commutes and longer journeys.
