Forum Mobility Unveils Next Generation Ultra-Fast Charging Station for Electric Trucks in Southern California

Forum Mobility's New Era for Electric Trucking in Southern California

On November 5, 2026, Forum Mobility made significant strides in the electric trucking industry with the inauguration of two cutting-edge v4 Megawatt Charging Standard (MCS) chargers at its flagship electric truck charging station located at FM Harbor in the Port of Long Beach, California. This innovative installation marks a pivotal moment for the zero-emission freight sector, as it provides robust solutions that aim to revolutionize transportation logistics.

The newly launched chargers, designed specifically for compatibility with Tesla's latest production Semi models, promise to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of electric freight hauling. During the launch event, the first charge sessions of a customer's Tesla Semi were held, demonstrating the advantages of rapid charging technology.

Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness

Matt LeDucq, the co-founder and CEO of Forum Mobility, emphasized the pivotal role of these charging stations in the logistics landscape. He stated, “We can fuel with electrons 40% cheaper than diesel. These are the first of 30 megawatts of MCS chargers that we plan to roll out over the coming months.” This initiative is expected not only to improve operational efficiency for freight carriers but also to significantly reduce costs per mile in an increasingly challenging industry environment.

The MCS chargers offer the ability to restore up to 60% of a Tesla Semi's range in just 30 minutes, providing an uninterrupted fueling experience that aligns with the fast-paced demands of the logistics sector. This level of efficiency is essential for carriers, aiming to streamline operations by minimizing downtime.

Expansion Plans

Forum Mobility is currently in the process of constructing an additional 30 megawatts of charging infrastructure across four new depots located in Rancho Dominguez, Ontario, and two in Oakland, California. The company has ambitious plans for future expansions that include key freight regions and port-adjacent locales, with installations planned in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Seattle/Tacoma, and Chicago.

Jim Gillis, President of the Pacific Division at IMC Logistics, expressed excitement about the partnership with Forum Mobility, stating, “Long range electric trucks and ultra-fast charging is the next step in zero-emission freight. We are proud to partner with Forum Mobility to put this advanced technology to work for the benefit of our customers. Together, we are delivering lower costs and emissions.”

Innovations for the Future

With a growing clientele that includes 25 carriers and over 330 Tesla Semis reserved, Forum Mobility is poised to lead the charge towards a more sustainable future for the freight industry. As they develop a network of charging depots in key freight corridors, their focus remains on providing reliable charging options and affordable electric truck leases. This approach not only supports the transition to electric vehicles but also reinforces their position as a significant contributor to the industry's shift towards sustainability.
