This significant initiative coincides with Blood Cancer Awareness Month and will take place in nearly 100 cities across the United States. The event not only raises awareness but also fosters a platform for survivors, caregivers, and supporters to unite as a community.

Light The Night is more than just an event; it is a movement that honors those affected by blood cancer while raising crucial funds for research, patient support, and advocacy. Participants will carry illuminated lanterns, a powerful symbol of hope, remembrance, and commitment to the mission of Blood Cancer United and the entire blood cancer community. Each lantern carried during these guided evening walks represents resilience and the collective aim to improve the lives of blood cancer patients.

Throughout the 2026 season, Light The Night will celebrate inspiring stories from blood cancer patients, survivors, and their families. This year’s National Honored Hero is Lennox, a brave child diagnosed with multifocal single-system Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) at just eight months old. After entering a clinical trial and completing treatment last December, Lennox, now three years old, serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that every medical advancement presents new possibilities and vital time for families navigating the challenges of blood cancer.

Local events will also spotlight regional Honored Heroes, further underlining the community's contributions and shared experiences.
