Freedom Holding Corp. Pioneers AI Infrastructure Development in Kazakhstan with Major Investments
Freedom Holding Corp. Advances AI Infrastructure in Kazakhstan
Freedom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: FRHC) is making significant strides in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in Kazakhstan. With ambitious plans that include a sovereign AI platform worth $2 billion and the introduction of a public graphics cloud scheduled for launch in 2027, the company aims to broaden access to computational resources for businesses, developers, and governmental institutions.
According to recent announcements, the development of the sovereign AI platform is part of an agreement formed in November 2025 with the Kazakh Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. This initiative is expected to feature a power configuration of 100 MW, enabling Freedom to operate this platform as both the financial and implementation partner.
The proposed infrastructure will support the training of AI models, large-scale data processing, and the development of AI services for both enterprises and government bodies. By allowing organizations to access shared computational resources, the platform will enable them to develop and run applications without the need to invest heavily in their own server infrastructures.
Timur Turlov, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., noted that the demand for the platform already exceeds the expected capacity for its initial phase. Major potential clients have expressed interest in leasing future computing capacity for extended periods, up to five years.
As part of its vision, Freedom plans to roll out its first cluster of graphics processors as a public cloud in 2027. This service will facilitate companies and developers by providing them access to computing power specifically tailored for AI workloads. Furthermore, Freedom is constructing a supercluster intended to cater to the demands of governments, corporations, and scientific research, with the first phase scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2027.
In addition, a new cloud computing data center, branded Freedom Cloud, is currently being established near Almaty. The Freedom Cloud platform has already attracted over 3,400 clients from both the public and private sectors. The technological ecosystem built by Freedom spans various industries, including banking, brokerage, insurance, and telecommunications. It also encompasses services aligned with emerging consumer trends, such as ticketing, travel, e-commerce, and food delivery.
On October 23 in Astana, Turlov had a productive meeting with Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, during Huang’s inaugural visit to Kazakhstan. Turlov showcased Freedom’s technological ecosystem and its ambitious AI infrastructure projects to Huang.
In line with this development, Turlov emphasized Kazakhstan’s ample talent pool, which already produces technologies in the realms of e-commerce and finance. He believes that combining this skilled workforce with a national AI infrastructure will transform Kazakhstan into a key player in the global digital transformation landscape.
Freedom’s role is to deliver the essential infrastructure to sustain this growth. The company’s investments in computing capabilities and cloud services aim to empower local businesses and developers, transforming their skills into AI applications and digital products. This ambitious endeavor underscores Freedom Holding’s commitment to fostering technological advancement in Kazakhstan and contributing to the global AI ecosystem.
