UFP Industries Bolsters Pallet Manufacturing Network with Apache Products Acquisition

UFP Industries Expands Pallet Manufacturing Network

UFP Industries, Inc. has made a strategic move in the pallet manufacturing sector by acquiring Apache Products, Inc., a well-established pallet maker based in Silsbee, Texas. This acquisition, valued at approximately $27 million, is set to significantly expand the operational footprint of UFP Packaging, a subsidiary of UFP Industries.

Apache Products, which operates under the name Acme Skid, specializes in the design and production of stringer and heat-treated pallets. The company is expected to contribute around $55 million in annual sales and introduce approximately 165 employees to the UFP family. This addition is seen as a vital move for UFP Industries, reinforcing its existing core business while broadening its PalletOne network to better serve a growing client base in the Gulf Coast, one of the largest industrial and petrochemical hubs in the United States.

Will Schwartz, the CEO of UFP Industries, noted, "Apache is the kind of business we look for at UFP—a market leader with enduring relationships, a disciplined operation, and a team with a proven record of execution." This acquisition aligns with UFP's strategy to deepen its reach into key geographic areas while fostering opportunities for growth with national clients throughout the region.

Scott Worthington, president of UFP Packaging, elaborated on the significance of this acquisition, stating that it will enhance the company's efficiency, scale, and the variety of packaging solutions available to customers in the Gulf Coast. He emphasized, "The Gulf Coast is a pivotal market for industrial packaging, driven by concentrated activities in manufacturing, energy, and petrochemicals. The team at Apache will enhance our capability to meet customer needs as they grow."

Following the acquisition, the Apache facility will be integrated into the current manufacturing network of UFP Packaging, allowing for better operational synergy and the ability to offer more comprehensive packaging services. This consolidation is set to maintain the local expertise and customer-centric approach that Apache is known for, while leveraging UFP’s larger operational scale and national customer relationships.

The formal closing of this transaction is anticipated around November 16, 2026. As a leading provider of industrial packaging solutions in North America, UFP Packaging stands to benefit greatly from this acquisition by cementing its position as the largest producer of wood pallets and crates in the nation. Besides pallets, UFP Packaging offers a range of custom, multi-material packaging solutions, designed to tackle complex product protection challenges and optimize supply chain efficiency.

Founded in 1955 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, UFP Industries ranks among North America’s top diversified manufacturers, producing and distributing a variety of value-added products across different markets in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The acquisition of Apache Products aligns with UFP's ongoing commitment to invest in its core competencies and enhance its manufacturing capabilities to better serve both regional and national clients.

As UFP Industries continues to strengthen its market presence through strategic acquisitions such as Apache Products, it reaffirms its dedication to providing superior packaging solutions that meet the evolving needs of a dynamic industrial landscape.
