Freedom Holding Corp. Advances AI Infrastructure Development in Kazakhstan
Freedom Holding Corp. Enhances AI Infrastructure in Kazakhstan
Freedom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: FRHC) is pushing forward with its ambitious plans for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in Kazakhstan. This initiative includes the development of a groundbreaking $2 billion Sovereign AI Hub, alongside the anticipated launch of the first public GPU cloud service by 2027. These developments aim to significantly enhance access to computing resources for businesses, developers, and public institutions in the region.
The Sovereign AI Hub project is part of a strategic partnership established in November 2025 with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan. This collaboration promises a solar facility capable of generating 100 megawatts of power, placing Freedom at the forefront of its financing and implementation efforts. The hub is designed to support large-scale data processing, AI model training, and the development of vital AI services for governmental and commercial organizations alike.
Timur Turlov, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., expressed enthusiasm for the project, indicating that demand has already exceeded the projected capacity planned for the first phase of development. Notably, potential clients have shown a keen interest in leasing future capacity over the next five years, further underscoring the project's relevance in today's tech environment. The initial phase will introduce a public GPU cluster, providing businesses and developers with access to critical AI computing power essential for their operations.
In addition to the Sovereign AI Hub, Freedom is also working on the Freedom AI Super Cluster. This advanced facility aims to serve a diverse range of stakeholders, including government entities, businesses, and the scientific community, with the initial phase expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027. Moreover, a new data center, named Freedom Cloud, is currently under construction near Almaty and is anticipated to provide services to over 3,400 clients across both the public and private sectors.
The ecosystem established by Freedom encompasses various sectors including banking, brokerage, insurance, and telecommunications. Their service offerings extend further into lifestyle sectors, providing ticketing solutions, travel arrangements, e-commerce functionalities, and food delivery services.
On October 23, 2026, Turlov met with Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, during Huang's inaugural visit to Kazakhstan. Turlov showcased Freedom's technological ecosystem and outlined the ambitious plans for AI infrastructure, reflecting his vision to establish Kazakhstan as a leader in digital transformation on a global scale.
Kazakhstan has cultivated a robust talent pool, fostering innovation in areas like e-commerce and finance. Turlov emphasizes that this blend of local talent and national AI infrastructure positions Kazakhstan advantageously in the digital epoch. Freedom’s role becomes pivotal in providing the necessary infrastructure that not only supports this growth but accelerates it. Their investments in computing capacity and cloud services are geared to empower businesses and developers in turning local expertise into AI applications and digital products.
The AI landscape in Kazakhstan is poised for transformation, with Freedom Holding Corp at its helm, paving the way for enhanced digitalization and technological advancement in the region. As the country evolves into an AI hub, the potential for growth and innovation is limitless, promising exciting opportunities for businesses and individuals alike.
