Ponta no Mori and MODRINAE Project Launches Third Phase for Sustainable Forest Development

Ponta no Mori x MODRINAE Project Launches Third Phase

In a bold initiative towards sustainable forestry, Loyalty Marketing Inc. (LM), based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is proud to announce the launch of the third phase of the "Ponta no Mori x MODRINAE Project." This exciting venture will enable participants across Japan to grow saplings from acorns and directly contribute to the planting of trees in the Ponta forest, located in Bihoro, Hokkaido. The project underlines LM's commitment to promoting a sustainable consumption society and supports community involvement in environmental preservation.

LM is collaborating with Somano Base Co., which offers the unique "MODRINAE"—an innovative concept allowing individuals to grow seedlings at home. This initiative not only transforms acorns into baby trees but also fosters a greater awareness and appreciation for nature and forest conservation efforts. The collaboration illustrates how companies and individuals can work together to combat environmental issues.

The third phase will commence this autumn, when those who grow saplings will have the opportunity to plant them in the Ponta no Mori. With the concept of “return seedlings,” participating individuals will nurture the saplings from the acorn stage until they are ready for planting, enabling a deeper connection and responsibility towards nature.

In addition, LM is excited to announce an enticing campaign for participants. Buyers of these seedlings will earn Ponta points—1% of the purchase amount—alongside exclusive rewards in the SDGs app, "Green Ponta Action." This includes a limited avatar and in-app scores called “ii koto” for sustainable actions—a fun way to enhance interactions while encouraging eco-friendly behaviors.

The partnership with Somano Base is aimed at fostering community connections through sustainability activities and aims to engender a sense of ownership among participants. Registrants can anticipate receiving seedlings to nurture and care for, thus becoming active participants in forest conservation.

The "Ponta no Mori x MODRINAE Project" introduces a restart set for prior buyers, allowing them to utilize their existing pots for growing seedlings again. This initiative encourages continuity and deepens the engagement of previous participants, showcasing an exciting path to re-involvement in forest creation efforts.

Participants can look forward to various products, including Ponta design saplings priced at 13,000 yen and standard saplings at 10,000 yen, with starter sets for 5,000 yen. All products will be available for purchase from September 1 to October 6, 2026, with limited quantities available.

After approximately two years of nurturing, the seedlings will be planted in the Ponta no Mori in Bihoro, Hokkaido. With each purchase, participants will not only enjoy the satisfaction of contributing to reforestation efforts but also receive updates on the status of their seedlings. Additionally, all participants will receive a rewards package which includes points redeemable within the Ponta system, aligning with LM's mission of a more sustainable consumer environment.

The Ponta no Mori serves as a living laboratory for sustainability. Launched in October 2021 in collaboration with more trees, the initiative aims to grow awareness about the importance of forests and inspire collective action among individuals and organizations alike.

Furthermore, the Green Ponta Action app, highlighting daily actions contributing to a greener future, has gained immense popularity with over 1.48 million downloads since its launch. It allows users to track their contributions and earn rewards for engaging in eco-friendly behaviors.

The overarching vision of LM through the Green Ponta Project is to create a happier, waste-free society, tackling various social challenges while promoting a clean and sustainable planet. By integrating user-friendly technology with environmental initiatives, LM invites everyone to take small, manageable steps towards a brighter future.

In conclusion, the Ponta no Mori x MODRINAE project exemplifies how collective efforts in sustainability can bear fruit—and saplings—that will flourish, fostering a culture of participation and cooperation in sustaining our planet's natural resources. Whether as an individual or part of a larger community, everyone has a role to play in creating a greener tomorrow.
