India to Host Over 130 Nations at Bharat RE 2026 Summit
India is gearing up to welcome over 130 countries to New Delhi for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026, scheduled from November 2 to 5. This significant event aims to catalyze global investment in clean energy and foster international collaborations in the sector. Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of India, the summit will coincide with the 9th Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH). This confluence of events creates a robust platform for connecting renewable energy markets, promoting multilateral cooperation, and advancing emerging technologies.
India's clean energy sector is witnessing rapid growth, currently boasting a non-fossil energy generation capacity projected to exceed 304 GW by August 2026. Among this, solar energy accounts for 168 GW. The Indian government has set an ambitious goal to reach 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030, necessitating significant investments across various fronts, including generation, transmission, storage, manufacturing, and green hydrogen initiatives. This robust expansion presents considerable opportunities for international capital infusion, technology providers, and industrial partnerships.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi emphasized India's leadership by being the first G20 nation to meet its commitments outlined in the Paris Agreement, showcasing India's dedication to a sustainable future.
The summit will explore opportunities to accelerate global energy transitions with discussions focused on clean energy financing, resilient supply chains, green hydrogen, and scalable deployment models. For developing economies, this convergence offers a unique chance to enhance cooperation on affordable energy access, technology transfer, and innovative financing solutions. The ISA Assembly will contribute a multilateral perspective to these conversations, bringing countries together to devise practical solutions for expanding solar energy deployment, mobilizing investments, and nurturing local capacities.
As stated by Shri Pralhad Joshi, India’s Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Director General of the ISA Assembly, "India's journey towards clean energy exemplifies what can be achieved when ambition is paired with investment, innovation, and sustained action. However, the energy transition is a shared global responsibility. At Bharat RE 2026, we invite governments, investors, and innovators to forge partnerships, strengthen supply chains, and develop solutions that make clean energy affordable and accessible for all. Together, we can transform shared ambition into lasting progress."
With expectations of over 75,000 participants, more than 400 exhibitors, 500 speakers, and 90 specialized sessions, Bharat RE 2026 aims to connect investment opportunities with pioneering ideas, technologies, and partnerships that can expedite the global energy transition.
