BPLab's Groundbreaking Initiative in Sustainable Clothing Recycling

This initiative will utilize 29 clothing collection points across the city of Atsugi, focusing on prioritizing reuse while also assessing the viability of recycling items deemed unsuitable for reuse due to contamination or deterioration.

These low-quality fibers often have limited applications, creating challenges when it comes to the cost-effective collection, sorting, processing, and selling of these materials. Goals of the Project
The core objective of this project is to maximize the potential of existing collection frameworks by systematically processing collected clothing based on their condition. Items that can be reused will be sold at overseas stores under the brand "Jalan Jalan Japan," while those that cannot be reused will be processed by Maioka Form Co., Ltd. into recycled urethane materials. This allows for the development and trial sales of products, like beach sandals, by TSUKUMO Co., Ltd., thus enhancing the value derived from low-quality fibers.
BPLab will oversee the overall design, KPI management, and validation of both environmental impacts and business viability throughout this endeavor.
