The Launch of Mobility Village
Introduction
The “Mobility Village” event, organized by CarLifeJapan in collaboration with the Japan Mobility Show Nagoya 2025 Executive Committee, is set to take place from November 22 to 24, 2025, at Port Messe Nagoya. This innovative project transcends traditional exhibitions and car shows; it is a living proof of future lifestyle infrastructures, presenting vehicles as “mobile hotels,” “mobile kitchens,” and “mobile disaster response centers.”
Experience Future Living
Attendees will be able to experience a new “village” emerging for just three days in Nagoya. The concept is to tackle current issues, such as accommodation shortages, the limits of public transportation, and the inadequacy of evacuation centers in disasters. Mobility Village aims to showcase how these challenges can be addressed through vehicle prototypes—demonstrating real solutions to pressing societal needs.
Background of Mobility Village
Japan and Nagoya, like many places internationally, face a shortage of accommodations and a pressing need for emergency services in times of disaster. The goal of Mobility Village is to exhibit how vehicles can operationally serve as solutions to these common problems. This approach is inspired by a global trend where RVs, EVs, and trailers are used as fundamental living bases in North America and Europe. Here, we present a Japanese prototype of this evolution.
- - A New Wave of Mobility:
Mobility Village is recognized as a new trend originating from Nagoya, rapidly evolving as a convergence of mobility, disaster preparedness, and business conventions (MICE). Visitors will experience a seamless integration of accommodation, dining, bathing, power sources, meetings, and emergency response—all enabled through mobility solutions.
Unique Features of Mobility Village
Participants can enjoy next-generation EV test drives, including the groundbreaking Tesla Cybertruck and versatile vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, showcasing trends in van life and luxury mobile living.
Alongside the mobile accommodations, Mellow will showcase 15 food trucks, operating each day during the event to provide delicious meals while also demonstrating how these mobile kitchens can serve as critical resources in disaster situations.
- - Disaster Response Innovation:
Notably, the White House will have a TKB (Toilet, Kitchen, Bed) experience station, highlighting solutions for emergency response and disaster preparedness with mobile units that can serve as temporary shelters.
- - Interactive Opportunities:
The event will also provide a platform for businesses in mobility services and the sharing economy to network and illustrate collaborative potentials. The Mobility Services Association (MSA) and the Sharing Economy Association will be actively involved.
Media Engagement
Media coverage at Mobility Village is encouraged, with numerous photo opportunities available. This project combines social significance, innovation, and locality, creating a news-friendly concept. Media personnel are expected to gain insights into societal trends and infrastructure advancements that bridge travel, leisure, and disaster response functionalities.
