On August 23rd, Sunday, Machida will celebrate a special event at its only public bath, Okurayu, featuring a unique bathing experience known as Children’s Support Bath with Edo-Hisui. This initiative aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for families while promoting local culture and traditions.

About Okurayu

Founded in 1966, Okurayu stands proud as Machida’s exclusive public bathhouse. After undergoing renovations in December 2016, it now offers amenities including a fragrant cedar bath and an infrared sauna (available for an additional fee). Families and visitors can relax and rejuvenate in its nourishing waters while enjoying the nostalgic ambiance of a traditional Japanese sentō.
