Celebrating Corporate Volunteer Excellence: The 11th Corporate Volunteer Awards Results
The Tokyo Volunteer and Community Activity Center has once again spotlighted the invaluable contributions of businesses through the 11th Corporate Volunteer Awards. This initiative recognizes and promotes the dedication of corporate employees engaged in volunteer activities with nonprofit organizations. By highlighting these partnerships, the awards aim to encourage greater employee participation in volunteer work and foster collaboration between the corporate world and nonprofit entities.
Selection Criteria and Awards
This year, a panel of external judges evaluated the candidates based on three main criteria: 1) Employees proactively utilizing their ideas and skills, 2) Responding effectively to the needs of communities and nonprofits, and 3) Creating accessible opportunities for corporate employees to engage in volunteer work. The awards ceremony took place on February 25, 2026, at the Tokyo Daijingu Matsuyasaron during the “Corporate Volunteer Festival 2026.”
Here are the distinguished winners:
Grand Prize
- - Johnson & Johnson Japan
Collaborated with local organizations in the Noto Peninsula to support disaster victims through the Japan Community Impact initiative. The volunteers from the Noto Peninsula Recovery Support Team worked diligently alongside the Peace Boat Disaster Relief Center.
- - Nippon Chuzai Co., Ltd.
The CSR team worked on supporting siblings of children with illness or disabilities, partnering with the NPO Shibutane.
Engaged with disaster-hit areas by connecting specialized personnel online, collaborating with the Nanako and Nakano Work Support Center, among others. Their initiative showcased the power of technology in volunteerism.
Special Prize
- - NTT East Japan – South Kanto Tokyo Division
The employees utilized their work-from-home hours to support local initiatives through the Kokubunji City Social Welfare Council and other partnerships.
Inclusive Society Encouragement Award
- - General Partners Co., Ltd.
Implemented a company-wide initiative to support employment for those afflicted by severe illnesses, collaborating with the NPO Ryoiku World.
Youth Support Encouragement Award
- - Sumei Urban Services Co., Ltd.
Aimed at providing young individuals with housing and other means for self-reliance, working with the NPO Tokyo Satoyama Development Group.
Focused on bridging the experience gap in beauty for youth in collaboration with the accredited NPO Kids Door.
Judging Panel
The selection committee was chaired by the distinguished Professor Yoichi Nakamura, Honorary Professor at Rikkyo University and Special Professor at the University of Tokyo, alongside esteemed members such as Eiko Katsumata from the Japan International Exchange Center and Yuko Kawabe from the National Volunteer and Citizen Activity Promotion Center.
