Bakery China Autumn 2026 Achieves 50% Growth in International Visitors

Bakery China Autumn 2026: A Thriving Event in the Baking Industry

The 11th Bakery China Autumn, along with the ninth China Home Baking Show and the sixth Bakery China Summit, was successfully held from October 22 to 24 at the Wuhan International Expo Center. This event, co-hosted by the China Association of Bakery Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd., highlighted a growing trend in the bakery sector with impressive participation from international buyers.

Significant Rise in International Buyer Participation

One of the standout achievements of this year's event was a remarkable 50% increase in international buyers, bringing the total attendance to around 100,000 from across 65 countries and regions. The strong representation from various buyer channels such as chain stores, fresh snack retailers, independent bakeries, and industrial baking businesses reflects the global appeal and growing importance of the bakery industry.

Zhang Jiukui, president of the China Association of Bakery Confectionery Industry, emphasized the essential role of the baking sector in ensuring food supply and meeting the evolving tastes of consumers while supporting regional specialty foods. The association is dedicated to leading the industry, participating in business matchmaking, technical exchange, and talent development to achieve these goals.

Unveiling New Trends in Fresh Snacks

Under the theme "From Trends to Practice," the event showcased innovative strategies in profitability and new retail formats. The exhibition featured an extensive range of products, including healthy baking goods, regional specialty ingredients, and premium chocolate. The Fresh Snacks Innovation Competition presented a platform for creative products, while the release of the 2026 White Paper on China's Fresh Snack Market provided insights into current market dynamics.

Additionally, the fourth Business Matchmaking Event facilitated valuable connections between supermarket buyers and suppliers, enabling discussions on product selection, contract manufacturing, and store conversion strategies. Participants benefited from practical workshops focusing on loss management in short-shelf-life products, refining clean-label formulations, and optimizing store layout. Tours to fresh snack stores in Wuhan enhanced understanding of local retail practices, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

Insights from Bakery China Summit

The Bakery China Summit offered a comprehensive overview of market trends and channel innovations shaping the baking industry. Discussions delved into various aspects, including market size, channel structure changes, growth drivers, and risk assessment in the fresh snack domain. Focused sessions examined members-based supermarket models, new approaches to fresh food retail, and cooperative technical developments between fresh snack businesses and ingredient suppliers.

Competitions such as the China National Baking Skills Competition and a bakery startup challenge highlighted industry skills and innovations, while the integration of onsite matchmaking with the iBakeryChina digital platform facilitated robust exchanges between stakeholders.
