The Association of Related Churches' Event Rejuvenates Church Leaders
The Association of Related Churches (ARC) made significant strides recently by hosting one of its flagship training events, the ARC Launch in Birmingham, Alabama. This gathering, which took place from March 18 to 19, attracted over 75 church planters, pastors, and ministry leaders from various parts of the United States, aiming to prepare them to launch and grow vibrant local churches in their communities.
The venue, Church of the Highlands, holds special significance as it was the first church plant established by ARC back in 2001. Under the leadership of Chris Hodges, who co-founded the ARC, this church continues to play an essential role in the organization's mission to empower future church leaders. Chris along with a range of experienced speakers and coaches, provided the attendees with valuable insights into the aspects of church planting and sustaining ministry growth.
Prominent leaders shared their success stories during the event, offering practical advice rooted in their experiences with ARC. For instance, Mayo Sowell, the lead pastor of LIIV Church in Atlanta, highlighted the importance of fostering a compelling vision and creating purposeful launch teams. Andy and Christy Cass from Echo Church in Rochester, Minnesota, discussed effective branding and strategies for local outreach that resonate with communities.
Another critical segment of the event featured Lee Domingue, founder of Kingdom Builders, who presented strategies on financial vision and growth tracking that align with both ministry and business objectives. Seasoned ARC team members, Amy and Josh Roberie, dove deep into essential components such as church governance, strategic planning, and even the integration of AI technology to enhance impact.
The dynamic communicators, Jimmy and Irene Rollins, provided attendees with expert advice on balancing the often challenging demands of ministry and personal relationships, particularly marriage. Furthermore, Jason Laird, the pastor of Citizens Church in Franklin, Tennessee, shed light on effective methods for creating engaging weekend services, even in portable settings.
As the two-day event came to a close, it culminated in a moving commissioning and blessing led by Dino Rizzo, the President and Executive Director of ARC. He emphasized the sheer courage and dedication of participants preparing to immerse themselves into the challenging yet rewarding world of church planting. Rizzo encapsulated the essence of the gathering by stating, "Every ARC Launch event transcends mere training; it's about building relationships and providing encouragement. We are dedicated to walking alongside church planters and leaders in their journey to share the message of Jesus in new communities."
Looking forward, the Association of Related Churches plans more ARC Launch events in various locations, with dates slated for Washington, D.C. in June, Carlsbad, CA in August, and a return to Birmingham in November. Those interested in strengthening or establishing local churches are encouraged to sign up by visiting the ARC's website.
Since its inception in 2000, ARC has established itself as a leading entity in launching over 1,100 churches globally. With its robust relational model and extensive training, the Association of Related Churches continuously fuels a global movement, nurturing life-giving congregations.
