The Japan Management Association, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo and led by President Takahara Takahisa, is excited to announce the opening of applications for its
6th HR and Talent Development Study Group, set to run from
October to December 2025. This series of
five sessions is tailored for HR and educational representatives from various companies, focusing on addressing the rapidly evolving challenges of our work environment, including an aging population, retirement age extensions, and changing work styles.
Overview of the Study Group
In light of these changes, this study group aims to explore
practical solutions by exchanging firsthand experiences and insights among participants. Attendees will learn about innovative practices from advanced companies operating in our current landscape. This unique opportunity will facilitate networking among HR professionals who share similar challenges, promoting collaboration.
Focus Areas
The study group features:
- - Learning from Success Stories of Leading Companies: Attendees will hear presentations from prominent firms such as Asahi Kasei, Pola, Sapporo Holdings, Nippon Ham, and Nippon Shinyaku. These companies will share their experiences and strategies in areas ranging from workforce development to data transformation initiatives, outlining both the successes achieved and the challenges faced.
- - Building Networks for Practical Impact: Following the presentations, networking sessions will allow participants to interact meaningfully, sharing insights that can translate into practical applications within their own organizations, and establishing reliable professional connections.

This study group represents a convergence of the former
Strategic HR Research Group, established in 1985, and the
Talent Development Forum, which began in 1977. Now in its sixth year, this initiative aims to explore effective strategies in human resources while equipping the workforce that will steer our businesses and organizations into the future. Expect insightful exchanges inspired by both success stories from leading companies and the real challenges facing participants today.
