Eco-Store Declaration: A Step Towards Sustainable Recycling
In an inspiring move towards environmental sustainability, FPICO Co., Ltd., Keisei Store Co., Ltd., and FPICO Interpack Co., Ltd. have announced the "Eco-Store Declaration". This collaborative initiative aims to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a sustainable society by enhancing the recycling efforts through their supermarket chain, particularly at 20 Keisei Store locations across Chiba and Tokyo.
Continuation of Recycling Efforts
Keisei Store aspires to be the "eco-leader of the community". They have set up collection boxes in their stores to gather used food trays and PET bottles from customers. All collected materials are sent to FPICO for recycling, transforming them into eco-friendly products like the "Eco-Tray". This horizontal recycling process—termed "Store to Store"—ensures that these sustainable products are used again in Keisei Store outlets, reinforcing their commitment to a circular economy. Moreover, FPICO Interpack is optimizing logistics by utilizing return deliveries to pick up used food trays from stores, creating an efficient recycling network.
Goals and New Endeavors
Through the use of eco-products in Keisei Store, the partnership contributed to a reduction of 86 tons of CO2 emissions in the fiscal period ending February 2026. With the renewed commitment to their recycling initiatives, they aim to reach a CO2 reduction target of 92 tons for the fiscal year ending February 2027. This collaborative effort underscores the power of partnerships—consumers, supermarkets (Keisei Store), dealers (FPICO Interpack), and manufacturers (FPICO)—working together to strengthen recycling practices within the community.
Future Commitments
As FPICO, Keisei Store, and FPICO Interpack continue to strive for sustainability, they emphasize their goal of becoming the local eco-leaders in their communities. With a shared focus on environmental stewardship, they are dedicated to improving the quality of life for customers while contributing to the establishment of a sustainable circular economy. This initiative is not just about recycling; it’s about fostering community engagement and encouraging a collective responsibility towards the environment and sustainable practices.
This remarkable collaboration showcases how combining efforts from various sectors can lead to impactful results in sustainability initiatives. As we move forward, it is crucial to support such endeavors to make our communities more eco-friendly and resilient for future generations.
