TCC and More Than a Phone Join Forces for Domestic Violence Awareness Month Campaign

TCC and More Than a Phone Nationwide Campaign

In celebration of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, TCC, a Verizon-authorized retailer, has partnered with nonprofit organization More Than a Phone to launch a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness and providing support for survivors of domestic violence. This initiative will not only advocate for those affected but also showcase the creativity of community members and the vital efforts of local programs dedicated to combating domestic violence.

Raising Awareness Through Art

As part of this campaign, original artwork created by members from domestic violence programs within the More Than a Phone network will be featured on microfiber phone cleaning cloths. The public can participate by voting for their favorite design among five finalists. The chosen design will not only be produced and sold at participating TCC locations, but the program associated with the winning artist will also be awarded a $5,000 grant to continue its crucial work with domestic violence survivors.

Courtney Kibble, Executive Director of Round Room Gives and More Than a Phone, highlighted the essence of this campaign, saying, "This campaign embodies what More Than a Phone is about – using everyday connections to provide hope, resources, and a stronger sense of community."

Community Contribution: Device Donation Drive

In addition to the art contest, TCC stores across the country are hosting a device donation drive throughout October. Community members are encouraged to donate any type of device with a screen, including phones and tablets, irrespective of their condition. These devices will be refurbished and allocated to survivors of domestic violence, providing them with secure means to connect with their loved ones and access essential resources.

Each donor contributing a device is invited to receive a 20% discount on tech accessories as a token of appreciation. Store team members will assist participants in clearing personal data before donations are made, ensuring privacy and security.

Ongoing Efforts to Support Survivors

Since its establishment, More Than a Phone has successfully provided thousands of free mobile phones and wireless service plans to domestic violence survivors. This month’s campaign not only exemplifies the potential of creativity and community engagement but also reinforces the organization's ongoing mission to empower survivors through better connectivity and access to crucial services.

Round Room, the parent company of TCC, is deeply committed to philanthropic efforts, having donated over $8 million through various initiatives that have benefited more than 1,600 local nonprofits. From backpack giveaways to national awareness initiatives, Round Room embodies a culture of giving back that supports community needs.

Join the Movement

Public voting for the artwork designs is now open, both at TCC locations and on the More Than a Phone website. Everyone is encouraged to participate and support this important cause while also engaging creatively with the community. Through dedicated efforts like these, TCC and More Than a Phone aim to shine a light on domestic violence, support survivors effectively, and advocate for lasting change in the community.

With a vision to build a future where all survivors can heal and thrive, TCC and More Than a Phone invite everyone to take part in these impactful initiatives this October.
