Celebrate the Excellence: BOMI's 2025 Scholarship Awards

On October 14, 2025, the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) revealed the esteemed winners of this year's J. Bradley Kennedy Scholarship. In a ceremony held in Annapolis, Maryland, BOMI acknowledged two outstanding individuals: Angela Brooks, currently a Property Management Specialist with Paycom Software, Inc., and Bilal Khan, the Group Director of Facilities and Admin Services for the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).

The J. Bradley Kennedy Scholarship was established in 2011 to honor the legacy of Mr. J. Bradley (Brad) Kennedy, recognized for his enduring commitment to excellence in education and career advancement in the commercial real estate sector. This annual scholarship is awarded to individuals striving to enhance their careers in property management or facilities management.

Andrew Taylor, BOMI's Chairman of the Board, highlighted the rigorous selection process, stating, "Each year, an independent committee from the BOMI Board of Trustees Competency Committee evaluates and ranks the applications based on multiple weighted criteria." This commitment ensures that deserving candidates receive support as they navigate their professional journeys in the competitive real estate environment.

Angela Brooks boasts five years of experience in the property management industry and has become a prominent figure both in Oklahoma City and on a national level through her involvement with BOMA International. As the President of BOMA Oklahoma City and a participant in the Daniel J. Chancey Leadership Academy, she's committed to advancing ethics and growth in the property management sector. Angela expressed her gratitude, noting, "This scholarship not only offers critical support in my pursuit of the RPA® designation but also represents a significant investment in my professional development within the property management industry. I am deeply appreciative of BOMI’s support for my educational journey."

In contrast, Bilal Khan brings over 21 years of leadership experience, excelling in network planning, operations, and facilities management. His work encompasses more than 40 million square feet across 2,000+ facilities, showcasing his integrated approach to operations. Bilal articulated his ambition: "I seek to further advance in facilities and property management at a global scale, aligning with international best practices and sustainability standards. Earning the FMA® designation will substantiate my practical experience while equipping me with formal expertise necessary for impactful leadership roles internationally, especially in markets like the UAE, where BOMI credentials are held in high regard."

Each scholarship winner receives free tuition for any courses needed to earn their respective BOMI designation, enabling them to expand their knowledge and expertise in the commercial real estate domain.
