AlphaESS Maintains Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer Status for Fifth Quarter

AlphaESS Secures BloombergNEF Tier 1 Recognition for Fifth Consecutive Quarter

In a remarkable display of consistency and excellence, AlphaESS has been honored by BloombergNEF (BNEF) as a Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer for the fifth consecutive quarter. This designation underscores the company’s commitment to providing top-quality energy storage solutions across the globe. Based in Nantong, China, AlphaESS has established a robust reputation in the energy storage market, particularly in utility-scale projects.

Stricter Eligibility Criteria

In this recent quarter, BloombergNEF introduced tighter criteria for energy storage manufacturers. These new requirements mandate suppliers to demonstrate successful project implementations with non-recourse financing from at least two commercial banks related to their projects. AlphaESS's ability to maintain its Tier 1 status is a significant endorsement for developers, investors, and EPC partners as they evaluate potential energy storage suppliers.

Expanding Utility Projects in Europe

AlphaESS is actively driving large-scale energy storage projects throughout Europe. Notable recent projects include efforts in Lithuania, Austria, and Germany, contributing a total of 200 MWh in capacity. In Lithuania, a 120 MWh battery storage project utilizing AlphaESS's Aster 5000 system has successfully passed factory acceptance testing (FAT) and is primed for shipment. Meanwhile, in Austria, AlphaESS supplied a DC battery system for a project that combines solar generation, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging, supporting grid services and backup power with an already operational 40 MWh grid service section launched in September 2026.

In Germany, the company is providing another DC battery system for a 20 MWh project in Bavaria, which is set to enhance grid balancing and energy arbitrage, with expected operations commencing in 2027.

The Aster 5000 System

The Aster 5000, part of AlphaESS’s utility product portfolio, features liquid cooling technology housed in a 20-foot container, providing approximately 5 MWh capacity per unit. This innovative system includes intelligent temperature control, a state-of-the-art battery management system, and a multi-level safety framework, allowing for flexible applications designed for utility needs, including grid stabilization and integration with renewable energy sources. Together, these projects and technologies highlight AlphaESS's growing prowess in delivering scalable energy storage solutions that cater to diverse market requirements.
