Hard Rock International and Shakira: A Year-Long Commitment to Women's Empowerment



In a groundbreaking partnership, Hard Rock International has joined forces with global superstar Shakira to celebrate International Women's Month, marking a monumental step in empowering women globally. This collaboration aims to provide women with a powerful platform to share their stories and express their authentic selves, all while leveraging the transformative power of music.

The initiative coincides with the annual celebration of International Women's Month, culminating on International Women's Day, March 8. The partnership highlights a commitment to facilitate one thousand women-led performances throughout the year, providing visibility and opportunity to female artists.

As part of this initiative, Hard Rock will also engage in fundraising efforts through the Hard Rock Heals Foundation®. A portion of the proceeds collected will benefit Shakira's Pies Descalzos Foundation, which works tirelessly to enhance education and social development for girls in underprivileged communities in Colombia, as well as various local women's organizations. Furthermore, the Hard Rock Heals Foundation proudly pledges to donate $250,000 to the Pies Descalzos Foundation, amplifying its mission of aiding vulnerable female communities.

Shakira expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration, emphasizing the importance of uniting women's voices to break down barriers and forge a more inclusive world where every woman feels empowered. She stated, “I am excited to partner with Hard Rock, an organization with a remarkable history of uplifting women through the power of music, to empower my sisters on International Women's Day and beyond.”

To celebrate this partnership, select Hard Rock Cafes worldwide will feature Shakira’s favorite dishes on their menus for a limited time. This includes the delightful “Hips Don’t Lie” cocktail, a fusion of tequila, elderflower liqueur, candied strawberries, and cucumbers; a Fattoush chicken salad that pays homage to Shakira's Lebanese heritage; and a Colombian hamburger, among other offerings. Additionally, Shakira’s influence can be seen in the design of the official International Women’s Month merchandise, including t-shirts, hoodies, and pins, all available at Hard Rock's Rock Shops and online.

Elena Alvarez, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International, articulated the shared values between Hard Rock and Shakira, which center around honoring women through music. She remarked, “This year, we encourage women to raise their voices, share their stories, and support one another.”
