Summer School Crowdfunding Campaign

Starting on July 24, 2025, Ridilover Co., Ltd., based in Bunkyo, Tokyo, will launch a crowdfunding campaign to support a special Summer School program aimed at providing unique experiences for children facing hardships. This initiative is part of the "Experience Gap Resolution Project," aimed at improving the opportunities available to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Organized through the platform "Asoview!" by Asoview Inc., the campaign will run until August 20, 2025. All funds raised will directly support the participation of selected children in a two-day outdoor learning camp this August.

The Need for Support

In recent years, the availability of local parks and nature experiences for children has been declining, making outdoor play increasingly difficult for many families. Furthermore, the perception of experiences being reserved for special occasions has contributed to a widening gap in access. Currently, 1 in 9 children in Japan lives in relative poverty, and the number of elementary and junior high school students who were absent from school in 2023 reached an all-time high of 346,482. These children often lack opportunities to connect with nature or engage with peers, which are vital for their self-esteem and development of non-cognitive skills such as perseverance, cooperation, and self-control.

The growing emphasis on non-cognitive abilities in university admissions and hiring practices further exacerbates the issue, suggesting that a child's lack of experience can lead to long-term disadvantages in society. Despite these challenges, support from the government for narrowing the experience gap has been insufficient.

Creating Lasting Memories

The Experience Gap Resolution Project aims to create a society where children do not have to give up on their dreams due to a lack of experiences. By initiating this crowdfunding campaign, we hope to provide unforgettable memories during the long summer break, which can often heighten feelings of low self-worth in those facing difficulties.

Summer School Overview

The Summer School program will be led by Masanobu Takahama, one of the founders of the Experience Gap Resolution Project and the head of Hanamaru Learning Group (Koyuu, Inc.). It will take place in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture, on August 20-21, 2025. A total of 45 children, selected through outreach by support organizations in collaboration with the project, will participate. The program will include activities such as team sports in vast meadows and river play, aiming to foster creativity and cooperation among participants.

Funding Purpose
