Hard Rock International and Shakira Launch Year-Long Initiative for Women's Empowerment

A Year-Long Celebration for Women



In celebration of International Women's Month and International Women's Day on March 8, Hard Rock International has teamed up with global superstar Shakira to launch a year-long campaign aimed at celebrating women's empowerment. The initiative encourages women all over the world to tell their stories, express themselves authentically, and unite through the transformative power of music.

Shakira, known not only for her music but also for her humanitarian efforts, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “I am thrilled to partner with Hard Rock, an organization with an incredible history of uplifting women's voices through music, to highlight the strength of my sisters this International Women's Day and beyond. Together, we can break down barriers and create a world that is more open, where every woman feels confident being herself.”

The campaign includes 1,000 performances led by women and fundraising events throughout the year. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Pies Descalzos Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Shakira that supports education and the social development of girls in the most vulnerable communities in Colombia and assists local women’s groups. The Hard Rock Heals Foundation is proud to donate $250,000 to the Pies Descalzos Foundation, further solidifying their commitment to women's empowerment.

As part of this collaboration, Shakira has also partnered with Hard Rock Cafe to feature her favorite dishes on menus around the world for a limited time. This special menu includes the delicious “Hips Don't Lie” cocktail made with tequila, elderflower liqueur, blended strawberries, and cucumbers; a Chicken Fattoush salad in homage to her Lebanese heritage; a Hamburger Hamburguesa Colombiana; and a Dulce De Leche style brownie. In addition, there are official merchandise items available, including T-shirts, hoodies, and pins to celebrate International Women’s Month, available at Rock Shop locations and online.

The year-long celebration will also feature Shakira’s involvement in exclusive events such as concerts, the release party for her album, "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran," and participation in promotions for Hard Rock’s Unity™ loyalty program. “Our shared values between Hard Rock and Shakira drive our collective passion for honoring women through music, and we encourage women everywhere to express themselves, share their stories, and uplift each other,” said Elena Alvarez, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International.

Beyond the performances and special dishes, Hard Rock Hotels will offer a unique program titled Sound of Your Stay®, allowing guests to create personalized playlists on Spotify featuring tracks from female artists. This initiative adds a musical ambiance to their stay and showcases ten iconic female artists’ vinyl records available for playback in hotel rooms.
