Barcelona Wine Week Sets New Records with 30% More Wineries and Exhibition Space

Excitement Grows for Barcelona Wine Week 2025

The Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) is gearing up for an extraordinary fifth edition, scheduled to take place from February 3 to 5, 2025, at the Fira Barcelona Montjuïc venue. This year's event is set to shatter previous records, featuring an impressive 1,266 wineries and a remarkable 38% increase in exhibition space compared to last year. The shift to two halls for the first time marks a significant growth in the exhibition area, which will cover a total of 10,000 m².

Unveiling a Diverse Range of Exhibitors

BWW has attracted diverse exhibitors, ranging from renowned large wine producers to small, family-run wineries. Notable names such as Torres, Vallformosa, Lan, Matarromera, José Pariente, Marqués del Atrio, Freixenet, and Raventós Codorníu will be present, showcasing their quality Spanish wines alongside a variety of smaller producers representing 81 different Designations of Origin (D.O.s).

Regions like Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Priorat, Cava, Jumilla, La Mancha, and Alicante will have their finest wines on display, offering attendees an incredible opportunity to discover both established brands and emerging local treasures. This variety not only enriches the wine culture but also encourages discussions about quality, sustainability, and innovation in winemaking.

Business Opportunities for Global Buyers

In an effort to expand business relationships, the BWW has enhanced its Hosted Buyers program in collaboration with íCEX from Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food. This initiative will invite over 770 key international buyers from strategic markets including the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, Mexico, Japan, Brazil, Colombia, and South Korea. This increased participation aims to create new partnerships and promote the diverse offerings from Spanish wineries on a global stage.

Exclusive Talks and Tastings

Attendees at the Barcelona Wine Week can look forward to an exclusive program filled with informative talks and exquisite tastings. The spotlight will be on wines produced from heirloom rootstock, addressing the importance of preserving traditional viticulture methods while discussing modern trends and challenges. Additionally, discussions will encompass the growing popularity of white wines and the vital role of women in the wine industry.

This year’s edition also aims to confront the industry’s challenges head-on and explore innovative solutions. Participants will have the chance to engage with experts, producers, and thought leaders in other thematic sessions tailored to enhance knowledge and appreciation of Spanish wines.

Conclusion

As the anticipation builds for what promises to be the largest and most vibrant edition of Barcelona Wine Week yet, both wine enthusiasts and industry professionals are invited to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Spanish wine. This event not only celebrates the heritage and artistry of winemaking but also sets the stage for future collaborations and innovations within the global wine market.
