Nepal Team Takes the Helm at Yoshiko Gyoza
In an inspiring initiative,
Yoshiko Gyoza, a renowned Japanese dumpling chain under
FTG Company, recently entrusted its Iidabashi location's operations to a team of five Nepali staff members. This move is rooted in the company's commitment to fostering a diverse workforce while providing opportunities for foreign talents to take on leadership roles in their operations.
The Vision Behind the Decision
Founded on the belief that creating 'exciting people' leads to 'exciting societies,' FTG Company, based in Tokyo, has been diligently promoting a work environment that values various cultures, nationalities, and perspectives. By entrusting the Iidabashi location to foreign staff, FTG Company aims to not only exemplify diversity in action but also to empower its Nepali team through leadership opportunities.
On August 11, 2026, the Nepali team performed admirably, achieving 140% of their sales target and welcoming a total of 80 guests without a single complaint. By putting trust in these capable individuals, Yoshiko Gyoza showcased the core values of mutual respect and collaboration.
Spotlight on Team Nepal
The day was led by
Rakshman, who played a pivotal role in maintaining high spirits and effective management, showing leadership qualities that had blossomed through his tenure at FTG Company’s
Meguro location. With a heartfelt desire to express gratitude towards his mother in Nepal by purchasing land with his earnings, Rakshman exemplifies the cultural values emphasized by Yoshiko, such as filial piety and community spirit.
Rakshman’s colleagues,
Pau Pau, Barzagai, Sil, and
Bandari, echoed his sentiments, expressing joy in their roles. “It’s fun here; there are no difficulties,” they unanimously stated. Their communication and camaraderie were evident, underscoring how warm interactions led to their high motivation.
Sushil, who works at
Gotanda and is considered the 'boss' of the team, shared his pride in representing Nepal through their work at Yoshiko. He articulated a desire to introduce reputable colleagues to the restaurant, emphasizing the unity among his team.
Trust and Training Behind the Scenes
The success of this operation would not have been possible without the trust extended by the managers of Yoshiko.
Kanou, the manager at the Meguro location, highlighted the importance of nurturing employees for leadership roles. His emphasis on effective teaching methods helped Sushil develop into a capable leader.
On the day of the event,
Ito, the manager at Iidabashi, intentionally took a day off to allow the team to lead independently. He had confidence in their abilities, especially in Rakshman, noting how their dedication to customer satisfaction exemplified their commitment to excellence.
Similarly,
Otsuka, the manager from
Oosaki, expressed the importance of maintaining a sense of community among Nepali staff, actively facilitating support for them to connect and grow together.
Customer Reception
Customer feedback reflected the success of the event, with many expressing initial reservations about being served solely by foreign staff. However, the proficient service and fluent Japanese from the team quickly dispelled any concerns. Customers reported feeling quite at home thanks to the professionalism and hospitable atmosphere created by the Nepali staff.
