Experience the Unique 'Yadotsunagi' Concept at BEAMS JAPAN Pop-Up Store

Yadotsunagi Pop-Up Store at BEAMS JAPAN

From June 19 to July 3, 2025, and again from July 18 to July 27, 2025, BEAMS JAPAN will host a special pop-up store featuring 'Yadotsunagi', an innovative project by YAMATO Lab., a kimono expert since Taisho 6. This unique event will take place at two locations: BEAMS JAPAN Shinjuku, Tokyo, and BEAMS JAPAN Miyajima, Hiroshima.

The 'Yadotsunagi' concept is centered around the practice of upcycling kimono fabrics that have served their purpose. The project aims to breathe new life into these beloved yukata, transforming their inherent character and history into stylish, contemporary items. The event highlights the beauty of traditional yukata, particularly those crafted from the historic fabrics of 'Miyajima no Yado Iwaso', located near the iconic World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine.

What is Yadotsunagi?

Yadotsunagi is a heartfelt endeavor that resonates with anyone who has ever worn a yukata. Historically worn at hot spring resorts and inns, these garments carry individual stories and charm. By embracing the aged textures and unique qualities of these beloved yukata, the project reimagines them as new, limited-edition products available to the modern consumer, bridging the gap between the past and present.

To celebrate this pop-up event, a limited-edition collaboration item, a specially designed furoshiki (wrapping cloth), will also be available for purchase. This exclusive item reflects the collaborative spirit between BEAMS JAPAN and YAMATO Lab. Priced at 11,000 yen, this furoshiki promises to be a cherished piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Product Offerings

All prices listed are inclusive of tax:
  • - Shirts: 35,200 yen
  • - Pants: 44,000 yen
  • - Jumpsuits: 66,000 yen
  • - Kimono Dresses: Short and Long variants available for 55,000 yen each.

Each item is one-of-a-kind, reconstructed from yukata previously worn at 'Miyajima no Yado Iwaso' and other traditional inns and hot springs around Japan. The unique patterns and textures of these garments ensure that every piece is distinct, giving customers the opportunity to find their own special item.
