Hockey Japan League Partners with Teket for Electronic Ticketing Solution

Hockey Japan League Teams Up with Teket for Ticket Innovations

The Hockey Japan League (HJL), under the leadership of Chairman Makoto Sakamoto, is thrilled to announce its official partnership with Teket, a leading electronic ticket sales and management service based in Chuo, Tokyo. This collaboration, which positions Teket as the Official Ticketing Partner of HJL, is set to transform the ticketing landscape for the upcoming 2025 Sakura League and Samurai League seasons by integrating electronic ticketing throughout all matches.

For years, the HJL has faced various challenges in ticket sales and management, particularly concerning the cumbersome processes associated with paper tickets. The inefficiencies in managing physical tickets, the varying sales and aggregation flows at different venues, and the struggle to leverage audience data effectively have all hindered smooth operations. To tackle these challenges, HJL began utilizing Teket's electronic ticketing service in December 2024, marking a monumental shift towards digitalization.

With the full implementation of Teket’s services, HJL has already experienced significant operational improvements. The complete transition to digital tickets has dramatically reduced on-site check-in workloads, and ticket issuing and management have become streamlined and centralized online. This transition allows the league to enhance efficiency across all levels of ticketing operations.

One of the standout features of Teket is its versatile ticket type settings, accommodating the diverse demands of various home teams. This flexibility enables HJL to move away from a one-size-fits-all ticketing strategy, introducing initiatives such as promotional tickets and exclusive seating options, which are crucial for attracting more spectators and maximizing attendance.

The intuitive design of the ticket creation and settings interface has received positive feedback from staff, with many commenting on its ease of use and simplicity. On event days, real-time access to attendance figures and sales data has greatly relieved the operational burden on management, allowing local organizing committees to focus on running the events smoothly without distractions.

Given these promising results, the HJL has decided to strengthen its collaboration with Teket by formalizing the partnership through an Official Ticketing Partner contract. This strategic move aims not only to enhance ticket sales efficiency but also to utilize the data gathered for fan marketing, attract new audiences, and elevate customer experiences throughout the league's operations.

The collaboration sets the stage for a redefined ticketing strategy where technology plays a significant role in engaging fans and enhancing their match-day experience. As we move forward, HJL is committed to maximizing its overall value, making hockey more accessible and enjoyable for all fans.
