MOTHER LAKE RALLY 2026: A Celebration for Female Riders

The general incorporated association, Japan Riders Forum (JRF), headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, has officially announced the upcoming event MOTHER LAKE RALLY 2026, scheduled for October 23-24, 2026, in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture. This event aims to promote safety and environmental awareness among female riders while fostering community interaction. Registration for participants will open on July 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

This event is designed as a tour rally focusing on the unique experiences of female riders. Now in its fourth edition, the rally was initiated in 2023 with an emphasis on safe and enjoyable touring. A portion of the entry fees will contribute to local initiatives for the preservation of Lake Biwa's ecosystem.

About MOTHER LAKE RALLY

The MOTHER LAKE RALLY is situated around the stunning Lake Biwa, providing female motorcyclists an opportunity to relish in the joy of riding without the pressure of competing for speed or distance. Instead, riders will use a dedicated smartphone app to explore fascinating spots in the Lake Biwa area, embodying the spirit of travel while allowing for connections with the local community and fellow riders.

This inclusive event welcomes riders of all ages, skill levels, and motorcycle types, ensuring an equitable and liberating riding experience. Participants will witness the splendor of Lake Biwa's rich nature and culture, making the event not just a rally but a journey of discovery and shared experiences.

Entry Details

1. Capacity: 500 participants (Registrations will close once the limit is reached).

2. Registration Period: Opens on July 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM and ends on August 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

3. Participant Fees:
- Solo Class (one rider per vehicle): ¥6,000 (tax included)
- Tandem Class (two riders per vehicle): ¥11,000 (tax included)
Note: Regardless of whether participants attend on a single day or both days, the same fees apply. A portion of the fees—¥500 for solo and ¥1,000 for tandem—will be donated to environmental preservation efforts by the Nagahama city authorities.

4. Included in the Fee:
- Vehicle number sticker
- Participation prize
- Completion sticker (to be provided upon finishing)
- Data management fees (additional system usage fees apply).

5. Advance Materials: Will be shipped sequentially starting around late September and include:
- Number sticker sheet
- Participation prize
- Cover letter with QR codes and instructions.

6. Important Registration Notes:
- There are no refunds for cancellations under any circumstances.
- Tandem registrations must be submitted by the designated driver, who should also input the passenger's information.
- Vehicles with a capacity of three must limit the number of passengers to two.
- Payment through convenience store or bank transfer must adhere to deadlines to avoid cancellation of registration.

Rally Rules & Completion Conditions

1. Completion Criteria: Participants must use the designated app to visit set waypoints and earn points.
- Each waypoint visited earns one point.
- A minimum of five points must be acquired for the accomplishment screen to display.
- Additional challenges include milestones for achieving the rewards: 5 points for a Single Tiara, 10 points for a Double Tiara, and 15 points for a Triple Tiara.
Note: Participation in the events on October 23 and 24 is not a prerequisite for completion.

2. Number Placement: The vehicle number sticker must be affixed in a visible location, adhering to the guidelines provided.

3. App Download: Participants must download the app using the QR code referenced in the cover letter and log in using the email registered for entry.

Guidelines for Companions

MOTHER LAKE RALLY is specifically tailored for female riders. While male companions are allowed, certain areas may restrict male access to create a more enjoyable atmosphere for female participants. Your understanding and cooperation in respecting these guidelines are appreciated.
