FANCL Collaborates with Ehime for Children's Dietary Education Workshop

FANCL's Dietary Education Workshop in Ehime

On January 11, 2026, FANCL Corporation partnered with Ehime Prefecture to hold an educational workshop focused on dietary practices at a children's cafeteria in Matsuyama. The event welcomed up to 120 participants, including children and their guardians.

Since 2023, FANCL has been actively promoting 'shokuiku' (food education) to help children and their surrounding communities gain essential knowledge about nutrition and the ability to select balanced meals. Utilizing its sprouted rice and kale juice products, FANCL aims to contribute to the establishment of a healthy society by supporting the physical development of future generations and addressing preventive health issues.

In Ehime Prefecture, a critical regional challenge is the lack of vegetable intake among its residents. This deficiency in children's diets directly impacts their health and the development of healthy eating habits for the future. Therefore, the collaboration between FANCL and Ehime Prefecture aims to use FANCL’s kale juice produced in Seiyo City as a solution to this issue.

Workshop Highlights

The 'FANCL Food Education Workshop' incorporated fun quizzes focused on the three food groups: red, yellow, and green. After explaining the roles of various nutrients in the body, the session introduced kale, often referred to as the king of vegetables, and detailed its benefits along with the advantages of consuming 'FANCL Kale Juice.'

Participants had the chance to taste the kale juice blended with local Ehime mandarin juice, which was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was further enlivened by the appearance of the Ehime Prefecture mascot, Mikyan, along with his friend Komikyan, ensuring a lively and engaging environment.

Engaging Activities

Hands shot up eagerly in response to the quiz questions, reflecting the children’s excitement and interest. After sampling the kale juice, all attendees participated in a delightful meal, enjoying nutritious kale curry and rice cakes made with kale. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with statements such as, “I had never tried kale before, but it was incredibly delicious with mandarin juice!” and “I learned that Japan is facing a vegetable shortage, so I intend to eat more vegetables and drink more green juice from now on.”

The kale curry received enthusiastic compliments from many participants, and children actively took part in making kale rice cakes, creating a joyous atmosphere throughout the event. FANCL and Ehime Prefecture envision this workshop as a model activity for building a healthier future, committed to spreading the message of food education and healthy living in the community.

Overall, the workshop not only educated but also created memorable experiences, bridging gaps between nutrition awareness and fun, making learning about healthy habits enjoyable for families in Ehime.
