Sport Clips Haircuts Launches Annual Campaign to Aid Veterans with $1.35M Scholarships

Sport Clips Haircuts Launches Annual "Help A Hero" Campaign

In an inspiring initiative aimed at supporting military veterans, Sport Clips Haircuts has officially kicked off its 2025 "Help A Hero" scholarship campaign in collaboration with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). This noteworthy campaign is set to run until November 15, during which Sport Clips is determined to raise a substantial $1.35 million. This amount will play a pivotal role in funding what has become the largest scholarship initiative of its kind for veterans and service members across the nation.

The heart of the campaign lies in the continuous effort to empower veterans through education. Since its inception in 2013, the VFW's "Help A Hero Scholarship" program has successfully awarded over 3,350 scholarships, distributing more than $15 million to assist veterans in their transition from military life to civilian careers. The need for this support extends beyond the provisions of the GI Bill, acknowledging the financial burdens many veterans face when pursuing education.

Contributions to the scholarship program can be made by anyone visiting a Sport Clips location. In a special tribute on Veterans Day, November 11, all participating Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to veterans and active-duty service members. This day is referred to as the "biggest haircut day of the year," showcasing the company's dedication to honoring those who have served the nation. Notably, over 80% of the funds raised come directly from generous customers, while vendors and product partners contribute as well.

Gordon Logan, the founder and chairman of Sport Clips and a proud Air Force veteran, emphasizes the importance of this campaign, stating, "It is our privilege to stand beside those who have served our nation. Through Help A Hero Scholarships, we ensure they have access to the necessary resources to thrive after military service." His personal connection to the cause drives the commitment to supporting fellow veterans in overcoming the unique challenges they face.

VFW National Commander, Carol Whitmore, commended the annual campaign, saying, "The Help A Hero Scholarship is a crucial lifeline, empowering veterans to earn a degree or skilled trade without the burden of student loans, ultimately leading them to secure a successful career." The VFW, dedicated to serving veterans and military members, is excited to partner with Sport Clips to open doors to a better future for thousands of veterans and their families.

The scholarships provided under this initiative offer up to $5,000 per semester, helping to cover tuition and fees for eligible veterans, specifically those with a rank of E-5 and below. The funds are directly sent to the educational institutions chosen by the recipients, further simplifying their educational journey.
