GAC's International Expansion Accelerates with Record Exports of 26,978 Units in August

GAC's Impressive Growth and Export Success



In August 2026, GAC has shown exceptional performance in its international endeavors, posting a staggering 26,978 units in exports. This figure marks a phenomenal 177% increase from the same month last year. Cumulatively, from January to August, GAC's total exports reached 172,008 units, signifying a 136% growth compared to the previous year. Overall, GAC is nearing the monumental milestone of 600,000 total exports.

Strong Sales Across Regions


GAC's international expansion continues on an upward trajectory, particularly in the Americas, where terminal sales surged by 93% year-on-year in August. Notably, in July, GAC made history in Uruguay, ranking fifth among all passenger vehicle brands and third among pure electric vehicle brands, achieving a remarkable market share of 6.0%. The AION V also excelled, becoming the second best-selling SUV overall and ranking first in compact SUVs within Uruguay during July.

In Southeast Asia, the growth was markedly robust, with an overall increase of 24% in terminal sales for August. The Philippines witnessed a staggering 283% increase, while Singapore recorded an 89% rise. Thailand and Indonesia also saw growths of 27% and 24% respectively. Hong Kong's market performance was likewise notable, with the GAC E9 being the best-selling luxury minivan in July, while the cumulative sales in the first half of the year positioned GAC second among Chinese brands and third overall.

Africa: A Market Booming with Potential


This month, Africa emerged as GAC's fastest-growing international market, showcasing an incredible 881% increase in retail sales year-on-year for August. GAC refers to this as a testament to their successful strategy in the region, having recently signed a local production agreement in Egypt with Jameel Motors. Furthermore, GAC has officially entered the Ghanaian market with an impressive lineup of models, including the S7, GS8, and AION V.

In the Middle East, GAC has maintained a consistent growth trend, earning the trust of over 100,000 users in the region. On August 28, GAC unveiled the XT80, its first off-road vehicle, alongside the GS7 PHEV, which is expected to launch in the Middle East in September.

Steady Growth in Europe


GAC’s retail sales in Europe climbed significantly, with a 93% month-on-month increase in August. The UK reported an 89% rise, Portugal an impressive 167%, and Poland a steady 33%. Greece took a notable lead, ranking second for pure electric vehicle sales in August while steadily increasing its market share.
