YKK AP Enhances Production Capacity in India

YKK AP Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced the successful launch of a new aluminum extrusion line at its manufacturing facility in Mysore, India, through its subsidiary, Bhoruka Extrusions Private Limited. The inauguration took place on October 8, marking a significant milestone in the company's ongoing efforts to modernize and expand its operations.

In recent years, India’s construction market has seen steady growth, fueled by consistent economic development and increasing demand for high-quality aluminum building materials. Bhoruka, which became part of the YKK AP Group in 2013, has been actively involved in expanding its business through two main channels: the “Extruded Products Division” and the “AP Business,” which focuses on manufacturing aluminum window products.

Particularly, the sales of high-value-added products, such as the aluminum windows known as “IWIN-S,” have experienced substantial growth, prompting the necessity for enhanced production capabilities to meet future demands. To adapt to this evolving market, Bhoruka has committed a significant investment of 620 million Indian Rupees with the goal of elevating its production capacity and improving production efficiency within the facility.

This investment comes at a time when the Indian market's construction demand is surging alongside economic growth. The project aims to strengthen business competitiveness and cost efficiency while swiftly responding to diverse customer needs and improving product quality. With the introduction of the new extrusion line, Bhoruka's annual production capacity for aluminum profiles will increase from 12,000 tons to 14,000 tons, representing a nearly 17% rise.

Additionally, the enhancement plans will include building a new materials warehouse to streamline logistics within the factory, updating casting equipment, and modernizing powder coating facilities to further boost production capacity in Mysore.

The added production capabilities will enable Bhoruka to leverage its strengths in quality management and integrated production processes—spanning material procurement, extrusion, surface treatment, and basic processing—in order to target new market areas and enhance the value propositions to its customers. In the AP business segment, the company aims to expand its lineup of the IWIN-S windows, known for their high airtightness and waterproofing, utilizing YKK AP's extensive technical know-how developed over the years.

Bhoruka plans to further accelerate its entry into metropolitan areas while enhancing its engineering proposals, ultimately contributing to the improvement of living standards in India. This initiative is expected to significantly elevate YKK AP's presence in both India and the broader Asian market.
