Dentsu Group Partners with GeekOut and Kodansha to Launch ROBMIX
Dentsu Group has officially unveiled its new label,
ROBMIX, in collaboration with
GeekOut and
Kodansha Creators Lab. This initiative aims to discover and develop the next generation of creators through the immersive social platform
Roblox and to promote the creation of new intellectual properties (IP) and various content forms. The partnership marks a significant step forward in their commitment to fostering creativity and innovation within the digital space.
The latest project builds on the foundation laid by Dentsu Group's earlier initiative,
House of Creators, which was launched last year. This comprehensive program is focused on supporting young, emerging creators as they share their original content across various online social platforms, with Roblox as one of its primary partners. The label name
ROBMIX signifies the collaboration between the three companies and represents their combined strengths in the entertainment and creative sectors.
Roblox boasts an impressive user base of approximately
100 million daily active users, who engage in real-time interactions through their avatars with friends and other players around the globe. Users enjoy exploring a vast array of virtual experiences, including games, adventures, and educational content. The distinctive feature of Roblox lies in its ability to allow millions of next-gen content creators worldwide to independently develop and construct unique games and virtual spaces, contributing to continuous innovation and community growth.
ROBMIX aims to become a pioneer in this new wave of entertainment, focusing on collaboration between emerging creators on Roblox and Japanese IP. Supported by Dentsu's robust network and business production capabilities, the group will focus on four primary initiatives:
1.
New IP Development: Creating content-centered around Roblox, including new IPs like original works, characters, and world-building.
2.
Existing IP Adaptation: Optimizing existing IPs for Roblox to create new experiences and reach a broader audience.
3.
Creator Support: Providing game creators who are successful on platforms other than Roblox with opportunities and environments to develop content on Roblox.
4.
Media Mix Expansion: Extending already popular IPs on Roblox into other mediums, such as manga, picture books, and merchandise.
Through this collaborative project, Dentsu Group seeks to contribute to the thriving entertainment industry while inspiring countless future content creators around the world to generate excitement and engagement within society. Furthermore, they remain dedicated to nurturing and supporting emerging talents through innovative expressions arising at the intersection of technology and creativity.
