Supporting Indonesian University Students through International Internship Program in Japan

The Kamglobal Group, a pioneer in solving social issues related to employment through business, has announced its new initiative to support internship services for university students under Indonesia's prestigious Ministry of Education and Culture's MSIB program. This program aims to accept two interns from the National University of Pajajaran's Japanese Language Department starting in April 2025 for approximately one year.

This initiative is part of the "Kampus Merdeka" (Independent Campus) program that promotes various activities in higher education institutions, including internships and independent research as outlined in the MSIB framework. Through this partnership, Kamglobal aims to be a bridge between universities in Indonesia and Japanese companies, ultimately helping talented students gain the skills and practical experience needed to become valuable assets in the workforce after graduation.

By participating in this internship program, Indonesian university students will have the opportunity to explore diverse career options, acquire essential skills, and develop a business mindset. This initiative also seeks to address Japan's labor shortage and contribute to alleviating the high unemployment rates faced by the youth in Indonesia, particularly as the country continues to recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program has already garnered attention from several prestigious universities in Indonesia, including:
1. Universitas Lampung (Lampung)
2. Universitas Andalas (West Sumatra)
3. Universitas Ma Chung (East Java)
4. Universitas Brawijaya (East Java)
5. Universitas Airlangga (East Java)
6. Politeknik Negeri Malang (East Java)
7. Universitas Pajajaran (West Java)
8. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (West Java)
9. Universitas Udayana (Bali)
10. Universitas Ganesa (Bali)
11. Universitas Pasundan (West Java)
12. Universitas Pakuan (West Java)
13. Universitas Mahasaraswati (Bali)
14. Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Pariwisata Yapari, Bandung (West Java)
15. Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung (West Java)

Kamglobal will guide Indonesian students through the entire process, from establishing agreements between universities and Japanese companies, defining internship roles, to supporting the return home or employment in Japan after the internship ends. The company provides comprehensive services, including visa applications, employment contracts, and lifestyle support to ensure that international interns transition smoothly into their new roles.

Under the mentorship of Naofumi Uda, the head of the Concept Design Engineering Institute, recognized for his commitment to educational reform through collaboration with Japanese academics and businesses, Kamglobal reinforces its relations with various higher education institutions in Indonesia.

The two interns from the National University of Pajajaran will join Kamglobal's overseas concierge team, focusing on supporting foreign job seekers and liaising with various companies looking to hire foreign talent. This hands-on experience will deepen their understanding of Japanese businesses while accumulating valuable job application know-how. They will also be involved in promoting the appeal of working in Japan through digital platforms like Facebook and web advertising, drawing on their unique perspectives as native speakers.

Moreover, by providing Japanese language learning programs, Kamglobal seeks to enhance language proficiency and increase chances of securing employment in Japan following their internship. Should they choose to stay with Kamglobal or its parent companies, these interns will also have priority during job interviews after graduation.

Intern Comments

Aprilia Nurmauri:
"By learning about the order and discipline in Japanese business culture, I believe Indonesia can develop further. Through this internship, I aim to sharpen my Japanese language skills and gain insights into Japanese business etiquette, which will help me achieve my dream of becoming a translator. The support from experienced Indonesian colleagues at Kamglobal is incredibly reassuring."

Henri Fauzan Habibiye:
"My passion for Japanese culture sparked my interest in learning Japanese. I have been studying independently since middle school and majored in Japanese at the university. I aspire to support Indonesian workers entering Japan as an interpreter, and the experience gained at Kamglobal will directly apply to my future career. I am eager to learn how to foster teamwork and work collaboratively with others."
