ChangAn Automobile Unveils Ambitious Vision for 2030 at Chongqing Conference

ChangAn Automobile's Vision for 2030

At the recently concluded partner conference in Chongqing, labeled 'Vast Ocean Plan: United Towards The Peak', ChangAn Automobile showcased its ambitious goals for the automotive industry. With over 500 global partners from more than 70 countries in attendance, the event was a testament to the company's rising international presence.

During the conference, Zhu Huarong, president of ChangAn, emphasized the company's progress over the past five years, particularly in the realms of new energy vehicles and global trade. He announced that global sales had surged by 34.2%, achieving a remarkable 2.684 million vehicles sold in 2024, of which 735,000 were new energy vehicles, and 536,000 vehicles were sold overseas. The president pointed out that being responsive to long-term market trends while maintaining localized operations was critical to strengthening ChangAn's global competitiveness.

ChangAn has set a clear goal to sell 5 million vehicles globally by 2030, bolstered by a commitment of over $10 billion in worldwide investments. The company aims to rank among the top ten automotive brands globally, driven by innovation, sustainability, and quality. To support this ambitious expansion, ChangAn plans to enhance its footprint in five key foreign markets through local production, branding, and customer service initiatives.

Accelerated Global Expansion

The executive vice president of ChangAn, Li Mingcai, provided insights into the company’s significant milestones. He highlighted the establishment of ChangAn's first international new energy vehicle manufacturing base in Thailand, alongside the creation of eight overseas production partnerships, achieving a capacity of 580,000 units. This strategic move has positioned ChangAn among the top three Chinese automotive exporters, with over 500,000 vehicles sold internationally and a revenue exceeding $11 billion in 2024. The company has expanded into 20 new countries, resulting in a global presence that spans over 100 nations, supported by a sales channel network consisting of 1,150 points of sale.

Brands under the ChangAn umbrella, including CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR, have gained international recognition, with ChangAn making it into the 'BrandZ Top 50' list of Chinese international brands—merely 14 months after initiating its Vast Ocean Plan.

Strategic Focus on Innovation

Meanwhile, the strategic priorities outlined for 2025 include the launch of 20 new vehicles globally—10 traditional fuel cars and 10 new energy models—such as the CS75PLUS, DEEPAL S05, AVATR 07, and CHANG-AN Q07. This dual-fuel strategy is also critical, where fossil fuel vehicles will target markets in Central and South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia, while new energy vehicles will be primarily rolled out in the Asia-Pacific and European regions.

Having invested over 114.8 billion yuan (~$16 billion) in research and development, ChangAn has formed a robust team of 18,000, incorporating 5,000 software and AI specialists. The company's approach focuses on creating a unified global brand structure while executing localized marketing strategies to adapt products to diverse markets.

As an integral part of its future roadmap, ChangAn will concentrate on maintaining high-quality production and enhancing its competitive standing through innovation. This commitment aligns with their vision for international influence and a sustainable automotive industry. With ChangAn's unwavering dedication, the company looks set to transform its ambitions into reality by 2030.
