SAPPORO COLLECTION 2025 AUTUMN/WINTER: Championing Sustainability

The SAPPORO COLLECTION 2025 AUTUMN/WINTER, also known as 'Satsukore 2025AW,' is one of Hokkaido's largest fashion events, set to take place on November 1, 2025 at the Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center in Sapporo. This fashion event uniquely combines style with sustainability initiatives aimed at creating a more environmentally conscious society.

Supporting a Sustainable Future

The SAPPORO COLLECTION has consistently emphasized its commitment to sustainability since its 'Satsukore 22AW.' It has received support from the Hokkaido Regional Environment Office of the Ministry of the Environment for seven consecutive events. The previous event, 'Satsukore 2025SS,' successfully collected used clothing from attendees, which was transformed into a large plush toy, further illustrating the importance of clothing reuse and recycling. At this year’s event, this plush toy will be showcased to drive home messages about the significance of clothing recycling.

Introducing SATSU♡VEGE

A standout feature of this year’s collection is the SATSU♡VEGE project, a collaboration between the local agricultural cooperative, JA Sapporo, and donkmodel, a model agency in Sapporo. SATSU♡VEGE is designed to promote local agricultural products such as vegetables, dairy, and meat through the combined efforts of producers, chefs, and models. The project aims to showcase the rich agricultural bounty of Sapporo with the slogan: “Both cute and delicious, from Sapporo.”

Attendees at Sapporo Collection 2025AW will have the opportunity to enjoy free special menus featuring seasonal Sapporo ingredients, capped at 200 early participants.

Learning through Experience

Furthermore, the event extends beyond fashion into food education. Notable figures like model and registered dietitian Yurie Ohno and model Saori Omata will visit local farms to capture the essence of Sapporo's farming practices, while Chef Kenichi Kitakaoka from the Miyano Mori Frances Church will create a special menu using these local ingredients. This experience will be shared with the attendees to emphasize the nutritional and flavorful qualities of local produce.

Special 3R Exhibit

Additionally, a special booth will educate visitors about the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, with interactive activities and showcases, including clothing collection and student presentations of remade clothing items. This area aims to promote sustainable living and encourage attendees to embrace recycling practices.

At the event’s educational booth, an exciting app game from Sapporo City will challenge participants to learn about waste separation and recycling in a fun way, effective for enhancing awareness of local environmental issues.

The Giant Plush Toy Display

Continuing its recycling efforts, the Sapporo Collection will showcase a giant plush toy made from collected used clothing at the event entrance, created by the design team PANDEMIXXX. Measuring about 2.3 meters tall and weighing approximately 60 kg, this piece serves as a visual and interactive reminder of the importance of clothing recycling.
