212 Launches at IAA Mobility 2025
The Chinese off-road vehicle manufacturer, 212, made waves today as it showcased its inaugural model, the T01, at the prestigious IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. This marked a pivotal moment for the brand, as it ventured into the international arena with its innovative diesel variant reflecting a strong commitment to the European market.
The captivating launch not only introduced the T01 in both gasoline and diesel versions but also unveiled a strategic partnership with Indimo Automotive GmbH, a leading European car distributor. This alliance signifies a robust approach to ensuring quality support and customer satisfaction as 212 embarks on its ambitious mission to grow within Europe.
The T01: A Blend of Classic and Modern
The T01 stands as the first model to embody the spirit and ethos that drives 212. It combines traditional off-road aesthetics with modern engineering. Its iconic square silhouette, featuring distinctive elements like arches, dual round lamps, and strategic horizontal bars, showcases its intention to appeal to outdoor enthusiasts.
Built with a high-strength steel safety cage following extensive testing across diverse terrains, the T01 guarantees durability and reliability. It also includes pre-installed modification points, allowing owners to customize their vehicles to suit their adventurous lifestyles.
At the event, two prominent versions of the T01 were showcased: the Changfeng gasoline variant, known for its superior climbing abilities, and the debut of the diesel version, which was recently revealed at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. The diesel T01 features an advanced engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering impressive torque at low RPMs for enhanced fuel efficiency—a key demand in European markets.
Commitment to European Operations
The partnership with Indimo is set to facilitate a smooth entry for 212 into the continent, leveraging Indimo's strong presence in markets including Germany, Italy, and Spain. Through this collaboration, 212 seeks to establish competitive local deliveries and customer service networks aligned with their expansion strategy.
As stated by Jia Haifeng, Executive Deputy General Manager of Weiqiao Smart Auto International Co., Ltd., this agreement will ensure that every T01 owner receives personalized, timely, and expert support, underscoring the brand's commitment to customer satisfaction.
To further solidify its market presence, 212 plans to establish a European parts distribution center and develop a phased service network, which will encompass regional warehouses and offices. These initiatives are tailored to guarantee quick and reliable after-sales support to all customers.
Additionally, plans are underway to localize operations in Europe by setting up KD (Knocked Down) assembly plants, hiring local talent, and collaborating with regional partners to foster sustainable growth.
Driving Global Expansion
The debut at IAA Mobility is more than just a product launch; it represents a significant leap in 212's global expansion efforts. Since its inception in 2024, the brand has achieved milestones, including sponsoring a Chinese racing team in the legendary Dakar Rally for two consecutive years and successfully completing an 8,000-kilometer trans-Eurasian expedition.
Looking ahead, 212 aims to maintain this momentum with new product launches slated for the Middle East and other key international markets, solidifying its global vision and aligning with the adventurous spirit of off-road enthusiasts worldwide. A major global brand launch event is scheduled for October in the Middle East.
As 212 continues to carve its niche in the off-road vehicle realm, the T01's introduction at IAA Mobility 2025 heralds a new chapter filled with opportunity and inspiration for outdoor adventures.
