Preventing Employee Turnover Through Knowledge of Social Security Systems

Addressing Employee Turnover Through Social Security Knowledge

In today's corporate landscape, the ability to effectively handle employee turnover has become more critical than ever. Recognizing that many departures occur simply due to a lack of information about social security systems, the NPO Social Change Agency, led by Hokuto Yokoyama, in collaboration with the Iridori Labor and Social Security Attorney Office, will host a unique event aimed at HR personnel on April 24, 2026. This event, titled "Perhaps That Resignation Could Have Been Avoided: Experience the Social Security Game + Mini Course with Social Security Specialists", aims to inform and educate companies on how to better utilize social security systems.

The Importance of Knowledge

Japan boasts over 400 social security systems, yet knowledge about them remains alarmingly low among employees. Recent data shows that while the utilization rate for sickness benefits is 74.6% for employees who have received information from their employers, only 55.1% of caregivers indicated that they might have continued working had they been better informed about available support. This gap in knowledge leads to preventable departures, costing companies significant mid-career recruitment fees, often reaching upwards of 1 million yen per hire.

Event Highlights

This event will take place at the Reboot Space in Taito City, Tokyo, and will be structured in two main parts:

Part 1: Social Security Game Experience

Participants will engage in a specially designed game that illustrates how social security benefits function in real-life scenarios such as illness, caregiving, and parenting. Originally developed for high school students, this interactive experience has already been tested by over 1,600 students nationwide before being tailored for corporate training.

Attendees will gain insights into how enhanced knowledge among employees about these systems can ideally reduce turnover and improve workplace cohesion.

Who Should Attend?

This event is strongly recommended for:
