Celebrating Excellence: Kyle Hildebrand Named 2025 Technician of the Year
On July 30, 2025, AGCO Corporation commemorated the remarkable achievements of technicians in the agricultural machinery industry by crowning Kyle Hildebrand as its 2025 North American Technician of the Year. The announcement was made during a prestigious ceremony held at the Fendt Lodge™ in Jackson, Minnesota. This annual accolade celebrates a technician's exceptional technical capabilities, unwavering commitment to customer service, and outstanding leadership within the industry.
Hildebrand works as a service technician at Ag West Ltd. located in Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada. His victory came after an intense three-day competition designed to test the skills of the best service technicians from across North America. Contestants faced a series of realistic scenarios aimed at evaluating their diagnostics, product knowledge, and customer service skills, with Hildebrand ultimately earning a $5,000 prize for his competence.
The Technician of the Year program, now in its fourth year, highlights the diagnostic and customer service excellence of AGCO dealer technicians. Contestants were chosen from nominations submitted by AGCO dealerships throughout the United States and Canada. The competition this year featured six scenarios, with a particular focus on the Fendt™ Rogator™ sprayer, as participants demonstrated their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
"Our technicians are the backbone of our dealer network, and they play a vital role in ensuring that farmers’ equipment consistently operates during crucial field operations," stated Ash Alt, Manager of Aftersales Technical Training at AGCO. He further added, "Kyle embodies the epitome of AGCO service and implements our Farmer-First strategy, seamlessly blending deep technical knowledge with a genuine commitment to our farmers' success. We are elated to recognize him with this well-deserved accolade."
Expressing his gratitude, Hildebrand remarked, "Receiving this award is a tremendous honor, as this competition was certainly challenging. I take immense joy in working on Rogators and other AGCO equipment to assist local farmers during critical periods such as seeding, spraying, and harvest seasons. I am thankful to my team at Ag West Ltd. for their unwavering support in my training and development."
Recognizing the significance of these technical experts, AGCO also awarded runner-up honors to five other distinguished technicians: Eldon Kalinocha from Full Line Ag Sales Ltd. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Justin Bohl of Butler Machinery in Chadron, Nebraska; Malcolm Klassen from LMS Ag Equipment in Stanley, Manitoba; Josh Kirsch of Ag Revolution in Vincennes, Indiana; and AJ Odquist of Plevna Implement in Kokomo, Indiana.
Maintaining equipment from recognized AGCO brands such as Fendt and Massey Ferguson™ demands the skills of highly trained professionals. As part of its commitment to excellence, AGCO collaborates closely with its dealers and regional educational institutions to inspire, educate, and equip talented technicians. Programs like the Technician of the Year competition, the AGCO NexTECH vocational program, and the AGCO Service Technician A.A.S. associate degree program at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, are testaments to these dedicated efforts.
