Celebrating Black Entrepreneurship: Famous Amos Awards
In a momentous celebration of entrepreneurial spirit, Famous Amos has recently recognized three emerging Black-owned enterprises through its fifth annual
Ingredients for Success Entrepreneurs Initiative (IFS). This year, the initiative proudly awards
$50,000 to each of the selected organizations, a testament to Famous Amos's commitment to fostering early-stage Black businesses. Partnering with the
U.S. Black Chambers, Inc (USBC), the program not only provides financial support but also mentorship and resources to help these businesses grow.
The 2025 Winners
This year's IFS winners include:
1.
Terminal B – Founded by Chris and Fay Breedlove, this Los Angeles-based fragrance company specializes in handcrafted candles and fragrances inspired by global destinations. Their mission is to elevate home experiences, making every scent a reminder of travel and adventure.
2.
Arcarea Adult Day Center – Established by Aracelis Rittenburg in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, this wellness organization addresses healthcare inequities, offering holistic care for seniors suffering from dementia and other healthcare challenges.
3.
Money Honey LLC – Taryn Ferrer’s financial coaching company also based in Los Angeles, empowers women through money management strategies, equipping them with the tools to build wealth and financial independence.
Rachna Patel, Vice President of Marketing for Famous Amos, expressed her admiration for the winners, stating, "Our judges reviewed hundreds of applications from passionate business owners making a remarkable impact in their communities. Terminal B, Arcarea Adult Day Center, and Money Honey LLC are incredibly deserving of these awards, and we're excited to help them achieve their dreams." Through its support, Famous Amos continues to champion the next generation of Black business leaders, honoring the legacy of its founder,
Wally Amos.
Honoring a Legacy
Interestingly, this year's awards coincide with both the fifth anniversary of the IFS program and the
50th anniversary of Famous Amos itself. To commemorate this dual milestone, the brand launched a limited-edition packaging campaign featuring original artwork from 1975, reflecting the brand's historic significance. Additionally, a free block party was hosted in Hollywood, reminiscent of the community gatherings organized by Wally Amos during the 1970s and '80s.
Shawn Amos, entrepreneur and son of Wally Amos, remarked, "My father built Famous Amos from the ground up into one of the most recognizable cookie brands. His journey reflects countless Black entrepreneurs who share vision but struggle with access to funding and resources." This initiative aims to change that narrative, ensuring that emerging entrepreneurs are equipped for long-term success.
The
Ingredients for Success initiative has now awarded a total of
$600,000 to twelve business owners over the past four years, empowering them to take their entrepreneurial journeys to new heights. The distinguished panel of judges this year included Shawn Amos, branding expert Steve Canal, and Brittany Rhodes, a previous IFS winner who embody the spirit of innovation and the drive for change in the business landscape.
Looking Forward
Beyond IFS, the U.S. Black Chambers continues to offer a variety of resources aimed at small business development, encompassing training opportunities and networking avenues. Interested entrepreneurs can find more information at

In conclusion, the
Famously You campaign reflects not only the brand's commitment to honoring its roots but also celebrates fans who made its dream a reality. As stated by Shawn Amos, it’s a full-circle moment that showcases the brand’s impact in empowering individuals to embrace authenticity and pursue their aspirations.
