Nurturing Career Perspectives Through Experience
The
DOMINISTA CHALLENGE program, organized by Kyoritsu Maintenance, will take place from
September 24th to 26th, 2025, exclusively for students of Matsue Municipal Obligatory Education School's Yakuzaka Academy at
Onjuku Nonosaka Port. This initiative aims to foster a better understanding of professions and workplace ethics among middle schoolers
Since its inception in
2019, the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE has welcomed students from over 60 schools nationwide, particularly focusing on the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. The program emphasizes the importance of community attachment and cooperation by allowing students to experience various roles within the hotel industry, including front desk operations, room cleaning, and customer service. It is designed to deepen their insight into the responsibilities of the workforce and the value of cultural diversity in today's globalized environment.
Experience-Focused Learning
In line with its purpose, the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE not only provides students with direct involvement in hotel operations but also includes classroom-based learning that covers:
- - Career insights about the hospitality industry and the joys of working in a hotel.
- - Interaction with customers and the importance of hospitality etiquette.
- - Preparation for various tasks, such as checking guest rooms and preparing facilities before opening.
- - Opportunities to develop new menu items at the restaurant.
This innovative program serves as a bridge, connecting the students' hometowns with the various guests they will encounter, imparting lessons about empathy and service. It emphasizes communication skills, which are essential for building relationships in any social context.
Feedback from Educators
A representative from Matsue Municipal Obligatory Education School expressed their enthusiasm for the program, highlighting their goal to enhance students' comprehension of various careers and motivate them toward employment. This aligns with the overarching objective: to cultivate communication skills necessary for future societal engagement.
Comments from the Hotel Manager
Mr. Takayuki Ogawa, the manager of Onjuku Nonosaka Port, gratefully welcomed the opportunity to host the students. He encourages them to interact openly with the staff, addressing any questions they may have during their stay, and reflects on the important link between work and society.
Educational Impact and Future Directions
In an era where societal and economic uncertainties prevail, career education that provides insights into meaningful work becomes imperative. Moreover, with the declining population, nurturing individuals who feel a connection to their communities is paramount. Kyoritsu Maintenance is committed to supporting students through this program, aiming to instill compassion for others and appreciation for workplace joy, while fostering awareness of their social environment.
