Blue Water Development Properties Rally Across the Nation for Third Annual "Blue Turns Pink" Campaign
In October, as the leaves change color, Blue Water Development is transforming its resorts and campgrounds into a vibrant pink landscape to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Celebrating its third year, the "Blue Turns Pink" campaign aims to unite guests, team members, and communities in a heartfelt mission to raise $50,000 for vital organizations like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Atlantic General Hospital's Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center.
An Outpouring of Community Support
Throughout the month of October, guests and team members at Blue Water properties across the nation will engage in an array of creative fundraising events designed to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer. Each resort will be steadfastly committed to the overarching goal of contributing to lifesaving research, treatment, and care through various enjoyable activities that bring communities together.
Property-Wide Fundraising Events
Among the notable highlights of the campaign are diverse fundraising events that cater to all ages. These include occasions like pink-themed 5K races, bake sales featuring delicious treats, friendly cornhole tournaments, and family-oriented activities. Every Blue Water resort will tailor these events to reflect the unique spirit of its community while making a meaningful contribution toward the collective fundraising target.
Pink Friday Tradition
Every Friday during October, a cherished tradition known as Pink Friday will take place. Employees will don their favorite pink attire, encouraging guests to join in the spirit. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences on social media, helping to amplify awareness and expand the campaign's outreach through shared stories and snapshots.
Merchandise for a Cause
To further support the initiative, limited-edition "Blue Turns Pink" merchandise will be offered for sale, with all proceeds directed toward breast cancer charities. This offers guests a tangible way to support the cause while sporting their unique apparel.
Guest & Community Giving
In addition to on-site efforts, Blue Water will ensure that support is not limited to those in the vicinity. Their websites will provide a platform for community members, both local and distant, to contribute to the campaign, making it an inclusive event that fosters solidarity around a critical issue.
A Unified Mission
Todd Burbage, CEO of Blue Water Development, expressed the sentiment: “The people at our properties are the heart of this campaign. Each resort has its own traditions, team, and community, and when you bring all of that together under one cause, the impact is powerful. Blue Turns Pink has become more than a campaign for us; it's a reminder that we can stand united to support families, fund research, and bring hope to people fighting cancer.”
The AGH Foundation provides critical resources for healthcare initiatives throughout Maryland's Eastern Shore, including important screenings and treatments offered at the Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center. Meanwhile, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation plays a pivotal role in financing innovative studies that focus on preventing, treating, and ultimately curing breast cancer.
